"Golden State-San Antonio WCF is going to be the real NBA Finals" - literally everyone a month ago

    Now what do we do?

  2. Which is why he shouldn't play next year after this series ...

  3. Give the Warriors their trophy and get ready for the draft?

I knew it wasn't going to be good when the game 2 controversy involved Manu.

1st it was the.04 shot over him. A few years later it was the foul on Dirk. Now he has the no call on the inbounds.

  7. It wasn't that close the moment the Warriors made the adjustment at the end of Game 3. :-/ Haha, I'll be cheering for it to happen ... but I think it's gonna be brutal. Hey, I'll take solace in the Blazer games all being close against the Warriors' team.

We put up more of a fight than the Spurs are tonight!

Lebron beat GS single handedly twice last year. GS has obviously improved but so has Cleveland. If Kyrie and K Love keep playing at the level they have been I think they're the better team right now.

FTank coming in with a major understatement -- I did not see this coming at all.

Damn, Spurs. They're really going to get dropped by 30 in an elimination game.

  12. Game 1 blowout.

    Game 6 blowout.

    Opposite teams.

    Weird.

This is payback for game 1 I guess.

  18. Because I'm the narrative guy ... if LeBron lost in this fashion what would Twitter and the sports writers do? He would get destroyed, just flat out destroyed, right?

Why when the Spurs do is it different? No one gets called out. No #hottakes. The press doesn't look at LA or Kawhi's body language under a microscope. No one questions legacy or heart or any of that.

  19. He's a liability on both ends of the floor ... it's so sad to watch. Don't like that he's going out this way. He needs to go for 60.

The Spurs "play like a team", according to the narrative. There's one in every sport. The Patriots are that in the NFL.

  21. At least the Spurs don't cheat! Hahaha.

Also, yeah, count me in for an OKC-CLE finals, just because I want to see Durant and LeBron play each other again. As much as I want the Cavs to avenge last year's finals.

Haha true, that's an important distinction.

My best guess would be the Spurs have never really had "the guy" to go after. They've always seemed to have more of a super well built from top to bottom team, whereas Lebron has been on a lot of garbage teams and single handedly carried them so he gets the blame. You can debate all day as to how fair it is, but I'd guess that's probably a large bulk of why the Spurs don't get quite the individual fingers pointed at them if they fail.

  25. KD played from game 2 on as though: 1) He was pissed anyone ever said Kawhi was better than him in the slightest, 2) He's not leaving OKC. Westbrook is still playing outside of himself at times, but he's getting a lot better at deferring in the right moments. If he does that more, they'll be better. He has to attack Curry relentlessly on both ends of the floor and put pressure on him and get physical.

Adams just needs to do Adams things and he'll get under Draymond's skin immediately. I just don't think they match up well and they can't guard the shooters GS has. GS in 5.
