I thought Aaron lived in Utah where he has a studio.

I never expected Fearless but this is great. The rumored September recording sessions were true.

I’m expecting 2018 Underoath to sound like LITSOS, tbh.

With all their “2018 is gonna be so awesome” posts, a new album makes total sense and an almost must.

My body is ready to thrash.

I’m guessing, overall, the new record will be more in line with DTGL with hints of LITSOS and TOCS. I could see maybe more keys/synths since that is in for a lot genres right now. But I anticipate Aaron and Spencer trading lyrics again just like they used to. I think they will continue to utilize Spencer in cleans because that’s a break for Aaron to put a cooler drum part in. I think there is room to play with everything. I don’t think it will be a huge departure with whatever they come up with.

    I do not exist.

The only surprise here is that they haven’t gone independent. I felt sure this would be a self release.

No idea what this might sound like.

I just realized Daniel Davison plays on both Underoaths and ETID’s best albums and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

Yeah, like I said, idk where he’s at, but Tim and Spencer have definitely been around each the past few months. In fact, most of Underoath is at the Carrolhood show tonight.

The samples Chris was posting were in between LITSOS/Ø and NIN. Super dark.

I’m ready now too, believe me! They’re my favorite band of all time, the first concert I attended, and I’ve seen them twice since the reunion. I want to see how they’ve evolved by bringing Aaron back plus the maturation that’s occurred since LITSOS.

i would likely expect them to continue down the unsound/sunburnt/paper lung track, a more accessible sound, which is fantastic, but they’ve got the ability to just blow everyone away too so I’d love to hear a brand of heavy i haven’t heard yet.

I wonder if Tim maybe got close with some of the Fearless folks via his merch company.

Speaking of Tim, carrollhood EP didn’t grip me at all on first listen. I’d hoped for more in the vein of Remission.

Is this confirmed? The ETID part?

Pretty sure he’s not on Hot Damn ;)

Idk about you guys, but I still love They’re Only Chasing Safety for what it is. If I’m in the mood for that early-'00s post-hardcore sound, that album does it better than most. Their 3 following albums are all superior, but I still love TOCS as well.

If I were to rank their albums it’d pretty much only be the Spencer albums since I haven’t spent much time with the first 3...

If I’m remembering right, The Changing of Times is pretty similar stylistically to TOCS, right? I don’t really have much interest in the first 2 albums.

  20. It's still the UO album I listen to the most. Their last two albums are the ones I listen to the least.

I actually like TOCS the most because I think it highlights Aaron’s vocals more than other albums.

The more I listen to LITSOS, the more I push it to #2 and slide DTGL to #3

Chris is also doing the score of a movie right now, so those samples could have been for that.

It's not a coincidence that their only album with Daniel Davison is their best

(this applies to UO and ETID)

DTGL is my favorite and while i always liked it, LITSOS has grown on me the most.
I’d rank em DTGL > LITSOS > disambiguation/TOCS, depending on my mood

Just got a notification that i saw their farewell tour on this day 5 years ago. While they may have known a comeback was coming for some time, going almost 8 years between records makes me less mad about it lol
