I'd much rather see a manager be lenient on pitch count for a chance at 20 or 21 Ks rather than a no hitter.

Also, Scherzer doesn't appear to have had any major injuries in his big league career, so he's not a prime candidate to suffer from a high pitch count, so I say let him throw.

 

Mariners are 16-5 in the last 21 games.

 

Braves just won their second game at home. Let's make fun of them until they win their third.

He was a Braves "fan" who hated everything about the team and probably had a John Rocker poster above his bed.

He hasn't been that bad about leaving pitchers in this year, and has admitted strategy miscuses which is refreshing -- can't blame him for letting Max go for the record.

 

Also, I'd rather Max blow it going for the record than Pap blowing it.

 

Definitely! I'm glad to see him get a shot. But a lead off HR to start the inning, followed by Miguel Cabrera with only a one-run lead? I think damn near every manager would've pulled the plug.

But as a neutral observer who pitched and loves watching pitchers do great things, I want to see Max do hit 20 or 21.

Max has had a tough season so far, but that was incredibly cool.

 

That was so cool. 20 Ks is amazing.

Super shocked it's only his 6th career complete game.

 

Damn that was sweet. Glad I got to watch the 9th inning.
