Transfer schools because the coach wanted you to compete for the starting job (that's such a Will Grier thing to do) and then call out one of the best coaches in college football because you felt entitled to a scholarship he "promised" you?

I don't question his drive to play the game or his ability, I just think he's a moron.

While I 100% understand why people hate Mayfield, but kids transfer all the time to avoid position battles. Also, he paid his own way while at Texas Tech for his first year with the promise that he'd get a scholarship, something that also happens routinely around the country. Using this as a reason to dislike him is pretty ridiculous.

 

Players transfer all the time - and I'm a pro-transfer guy, as far as that goes - but I think it's lame to do it for a position battle, which is why I called out Will Grier for the same thing.

My scholarship comment is in reference to Gary Patterson at TCU. Yes, things were sketchy at Tech regarding his scholarship, but calling out Patterson, one of the best coaches in college football, because you felt like he owed you a scholarship is garbage.
