Willettized by Lagunitas makes me so irrationally angry at like ever whiskey aged imperial coffee stouts price point. I know no one has Lagunitas’ Resources but fuck man founders has plenty of resources to not charge 6-7 bucks a bottle of KBS.

A buddy was just telling me about Willettized the other day and I had no idea how cheap they were selling it. Need to pick some up. I’ve had High Westified, but that was on tap at Tørst, so I’m sure I paid a fortune for it.

High-westified was a similar price point, no?

Getting Lagunitas Imperial Stout/Cappuccino Stout bombers on sale for $3.99 was a savage play during college.

I don’t remember what it was but it was like half the price of KBS and came in six packs.

Wife got me some Whatever Nevermind and another oak aged bottle by Tired Hands for Christmas. At my uncles now who has a New Belgium hookup. Their Belgium Beer series is decent for what it is

Yeah I feel like the 12 oz single I got of high westified was about the same as willetized.

On a different note, did any of you get beer for Christmas? I got a pretty good haul!

Shared some local stouts tonight with the family that were all great.

Kane 2192 (Blend of all their big stouts - ANTEAD, brunches, etc)
    Other Half/J. Wakefield Snowbirds (almond,
    coconut, chocolate)
Troon Let The Devil In (Maple, vanilla, cinnamon)
Magnify Double Barrel Point of Divergence (blend of beers aged in bourbon, red and white wine barrels that is then aged an additional year in port barrels)

A lot of the bottles in the cooler right now are vintage bottles from El Catador series of the past. Not standard releases. They also did a one day 50% off sale on the 110K+OT Batch #6 and sold it for $15.

To suck Tired Hands off some more, I’m having an Oblivex DIPA right now which is blowing my mind

sorry for the late response on this, haven't been on in a while. I brought:

    Canadian Breakfast Stout (delicious imo)
Tree House's Lights On Pale Ale (equally delicious, just in a different way)
Sierra Nevada Big Foot Barleywine from 2015 (randomly found it in a bottle shop - it was pretty disappointing, honestly)

    friends brought:

Free Will's Cloudy with a Chance of Charcuterie IPA (one of those NEIPAs but had lactose sugar added, it was pretty good)
Oskar Blues's Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy (really enjoyed it, but overwhelming on the bourbon - it was like drinking motor oil)
Terrapin's Moo-Tella Stout (really chocolatey, pretty good)
New Holland's Dragon's Milk - Barrel-aged Milk Stout (somehow never had this, and it was surprisingly delicious)
Hardywood Gingerbread Stout (my least favorite of the night, couldn't even finish. the gingerbread flavor was overwhelming for me).

pretty fun for my first beer share!

regarding tired hands, they're generally pretty solid, but they definitely are overhyped. I feel like there's a 0.25 curve on almost all of their beers on untappd.

Going to Jupiter. FL in 3 weeks and my girlfriend's angel of a mother already picked me up some Cigar City Jai Alai.

Any other breweries or specfic beers I should seek out in South Florida?

I mean I was pregnant from January - late Sept so it wasn't that difficult, lol.

I'm bummed I passed 3k on untappd and didn't realize it. Wanted to crack a whale for the occasion but think I ended up just having something random.

Nice, are you in any of the societies? We're in the reserve society and have way too many Bruery beers. Think we have 3 of each Grey Monday, Black Tuesday, Mocha Wednesday... I'd also offer to buy and ship to people but at the price point it's likely not worth it. We were actually going to cancel our membership this year since it costs so much to ship all the bruery beers from CA to NY but they announced they're opening a spot in DC so we're keeping it another year.

10000% agree - had the Willettized over the weekend and it was great, and at $14.99 a 6 pack way more worth the money than KBS.

I just checked our beer cellar google doc (yes, we're nerds) and we currently have 55 bottles from The Bruery in our cellar, and 39 in CA that need to be shipped. That is fucking nuts.

Was in Preservation last year, starting Reserve as of today! We only have like... 7 or 8 bottles currently, well and 6-ish more to pick up? But it's much easier for me living relatively close, I don't need to ship anything ever.

Very impressive cellar list @jaimej. I've made the decision to stop cellaring most beers (I say, with six cases of beer yet to split up with my ex and currently like 10 bottles in my closet). The more I think about it, the more I want to drink the beers fresh. The only reason for me to cellar beers at this point is if I want to ship some out to people or if I happen to want a lot to drink in the coming months of something limited.

Yeah I haven't had a lot of times where I prefer an older cellared version to the newer one, I really enjoy the bold/strong taste that barrrel aging gives beers, so when they "mellow out" i tend to enjoy them a little less
