I'm sayin if it got something cool like psychic it'd just replace ice weakness with bug. Steel and it gets wrecked by fire, give it fairy even and its wrecked by poison. theres not a lot of options to cover up all the grass weaknesses.

 

owl is the cutest. i like all 3 though which i couldnt say for xy or bw

 

Also noticing that this looks like a full on 3D Pokemon game. I think the last one took more of a 3D angle but still kind of felt like that top down standard Pokemon game whereas this one looks like it's going all the way.

 

There's a shiny Xerneas distribution from now until the 17th and the shiny Yveltal from the 20th to the 26th.

 

Man I wish I had a 3DS

I know that Pokémon has been a bunch of rinse and repeat lately, but this just seems like a new generation of lazy. At this point I'd rather have remakes...

 

We hardly know anything about the games at all, seems a bit early to be making judgments like that

 

I'm okay with a recycled formula but at the same time I've played way too much Madden so I've adapted to it.

 

What seems lazy about it so far? From the minute or so gameplay we've seen it looks like one of the more significant jumps in the franchise and all three of the starters are good.

Honestly this might be my favourite set of starters since Gold/Silver.

 

A Pokemon doesn't need Flying type to fly.

 

I usually always go with the water starter, but I'm extremely tempted to go with grass this game. Curious to see their evolutions.

Hell, it can have FLY in its name and not be a flying type.

 

Misleading because it's followed by gon. So flying type gone.

 

a pokemon can also have the flying type and not fly. neither of those things has anything to do with what i was arguing, which is why, if you were working towards a grass dual type other than flying, would you have conceptually chosen an owl.

if you were looking for an argument about precedence, i cant think of a pokemon line that maintained the trait of flight throughout while dropping the flying type along the way, but maybe i'm forgetting someone.

 

Every Pokemon loses flying type when it uses Roost.

 

You're not wrong, but I just can't see them keeping it Grass/Flying. Then again Game Freak/TPC generally don't care about the viability of the starter pokemon as competitive entities.

Also Grass/Flying is super boring so I'm holding onto hope it gets a better typing.

 

I was convinced there was a pokemon that lost flying type on evolution. Must have been thinking of Mega Gyrados

 

I got into an argument with a guy yesterday about the meta.

Pokemon stats and everything aren't considered for the meta until well after their debut. You look at some of the Megas and stat adjustments we've gotten over the years. Hell, was Sceptile or Kanghaskhan a threat ever? It's possible that they change it up, it just won't be any time soon. This thing isn't going to change type or be viable.
