Everyone needs to invest in Moviepass. I would have went and seen it multiple times anyway, but going to see Star Wars basically every other night since it came out and not having to pay is awesome.

I tried on the site and it gave me error messages so I’m guessing not for the STL area.

It doesn't work very well unless you have an account. Just give me your zip and I will look at it on the app on my phone and give you the list.

You're welcome man! Make sure to download the app on your phone. That's how you use it. Also, you will have to wait a month or 2 for your card because they are so backed up, but your 30 days doesn't start until you get it and activate it.

Edit: But if any of your theaters do E-Ticketing, you can use the app to get E tickets and start using it right away until you get your card.

Finally saw this tonight. Is there a general consensus opinion or a specific article that best describes peoples’ thoughts? Please spare me 295 pages of reading, as fun as it’d be. I’ll be checking out the podcast too but readings fun.

I'm probably stupid and the only one who spent any amount of time having to think about this, but my 2nd viewing I kept wondering why Kylo Ren was walking around like he had a stick up his butt. Then I remembered he got shot by a wookie bowcaster shortly before these events lol

btw do Luke detractors not remember the end of Episode VI? In TLJ, during his fight with Kylo, Kylo yells at Luke about the war ending and killing the last Jedi and blah blah blah. Luke simply says "No," straightens his stance, and turns off his lightsaber, before telling Kylo everything that he just said is wrong.

Reminds me so much of the scene at the end of the fight in the Emperor's throne room in RoTJ. Palpatine is telling Luke to kill Vader once and for all. Luke says "No," turns his lightsaber off, and throws it off to the side. It's not like that pacifist/unwillingness to fight all of a sudden manifested itself in him, he walked away from a fight 30 years ago.

Fucking finally saw this tonight and I absolutely love it. Such a great, different experience from the rest of the series that still feels completely Star Wars. I did have a few minor gripes, mostly involving Laura Dern's character (and I did kind of think the casino thing went on too long, especially the escape sequence), but none of it really affected my enjoyment very much.

I absolutely loved the scene where Luke "died" and how it mirrored the iconic scene at the beginning of New Hope where he stares into the sky on Tatooine, even with the music being the same. (I haven't read any of the spoiler discussion in this thread, is it agreed upon that he became one with the Force like Obi-Wan and Yoda did, which is why he disappeared? If so, assuming he will show up in Force Ghost form in the next one)

I really loved Hamill in this, he's become such a good actor. Driver and Ridley were amazing too, my favorite parts of the movie were every time they were on screen.

I could write more but maybe later lol

That dual sun scene at the end of this movie is not only one of the best shots in SW history, it’s one of the best shots of the year in cinema.

Finally saw this movie and can poke my head in here . Had many friends telling me tha they hated this move, but told me that I may like it since all I ever wanted from the film was a jaded and broken luke skywalker . Loved everything thy did with luke rey and kylo.

I do wish that snoke would've been the one to reveal rey's parentage, in a " who are you? You'e nobody" speech where he would have shed some brief light on his backstory before being killed, and maybe a way of tying Finns newfound devotion to the rebellion to the larger plot of the film, but that's just me playing backseat screenwriter. This film gave me the luke skywalker I've wanted to see to see since ROTJ and the poignant themes of failure and anybody can be a hero.

Also the scene with yoda and luke was maybe my favorite series moment, so perfect. Slightly undercut by the reveal of rey saving the books, but still powerful and exactly what I wanted from this new trilogy.

I did have some disappointments with this film but they were far outweighed by the glorious highs it reached

i liked it but wasn't particularly blown away; i liked both TFA and RO more. I was getting pretty bored until 50-60% into the movie; the fight scene with Snoke and the snowy battle at the abandoned base were my favorites. i'm not nitpicky enough to argue about any potential plot holes or inconsistencies but some things, like leia's space walk, bothered me. i liked luke, kylo, and rey a lot, fin's storyline was very underwhelming.

i also didn't notice rey saving the books.

There's a quick shot at the end of Finn looking for a blanket in a drawer for Rose, and the books are in the drawer. At least that's what I noticed last night
