If I had to pick the next coach of a big SEC team to become the league punchline, I’d probably guess Ed Orgeron.

Ed O and Vandy fielded two of the worst Power 5 QBs in the country. LSU would likely be two time division champs th. Vandy would've won last year too.

 

I mean, there are only so many brothers of NFL players or sons of coaches for Vandy to choose from to be their QB

I feel like Vanderbilt needs to be looked at differently than the rest of the SEC. They are there for proximity purposes and recently some of their other sports teams. For the most part, Vanderbilt is shopping down a different aisle in terms of their athlete profiles, most notably academics. They are by and large operating very differently so it's hard for me to call them a laughingstock unless they really bend rules like Franklin or become like Purdue under Hazell. They are doing what they should be doing right now.

 

Rumor going around the Seattle area that Jacob Eason is going to transfer from UGA to UW. UW just had the #4 pro-style QB and also the #6 dual threat QB sign their NLI's yesterday.

Sounds like this team will finally have a QB soon. Exciting.

 

“Finally have a QB” is a little much since their QB was in the Heisman conversation literally last year.

But Eason’s a good one and I’d strongly prefer UW to somewhere in the SEC

It’s crazy to me that Johnny Football was the last SEC QB to go in the first round of the NFL draft, and two before that were Cam and Tebow

We grew up in the same town and ran in the same crowd growing up. We were friends but not like best friends. We played on a football team together, but more played basketball against each other at the park and in open gyms. I was pumped he played well at WMU and got drafted. He’s a good guy.

 

That’s awesome, man! I heard nothing but good things about him as a person, too.

John Ross made Jake Browning in 2016.

Browning stinks and is holding UW back.

 

This is 100 percent an instant where the stats don't show the correct picture. Etling killed drives at a staggeringly high rate. It's like TJ defending Tanner Lee. Lee and Etling are horrendous QBs that cannot play under pressure and can barely play without pressure.

 

Their QBR also says Jake Fromm and Lamar Jackson are comparable QBs. I like their total EPA stat a lot more. Their QBR rewards a QB too much for not being involved in plays and being efficient the few times they’re called on.

 

Four QBs going in the top five? lol.

 

Forgot to say it last night, but congrats to UW on beating out ND for Kyler Gordon. He's a good prospect. Hopefully ND can land either Boykin or Irvin.
