I have to go socialize for a club I'm in. We're doing a movie night but I have no idea what we're watching, I'm really scared to find out what it is.

I should also note this was about 1 1/2 hours-2 hours away from where I actually live. Star crossed lovers.

 

I would literally trade any of you for plans. About to leave for a family dinner which includes my mom's mom, who may be my least favorite person on the planet. But I mean, there's also queso.

 

It's pretty much a bunch of Americans saying it's offensive and racist (which is hilarious in and of itself) and the few Irish saying it's not and being ignored.

 

Americans will take any excuse to drink. That's what you get out of us celebrating both that and Cinco de Mayo.

There's a different argument I could make based on the history of the English language and how it advances and changes when it encounters new cultures and how that relates to holidays, but I don't want to reveal my nerdiest self.

 

Like it's literally just an excuse for us to drink too.

 

That's the only day I drink Irish Car Bombs.

 

Next year in Vancouver you can lead a pub crawl.

 

Hopefully my knees, aching hard from a long skate session this morning, will last this Detroit bar crawl.

this drink name is appx. a million times more suspect to me than the actual holiday, i know its not your call or anything haha but man does it bug me. i work with an irish girl and we talked about it because she was kind of aghast thats what we call a drink.

 

yeah the name of that drink is pretty dodgy.

Really? I guess I never really thought about it being offensive.
