Maybe the most anticipated movie of life??

 

I’m dying to see Denis latest film still, it never came through at the fests I went to in Toronto and MTL.

Speaking of Denis, I’m out here rn for a 35mm screening of Chocolat.

 

20 year anniversary of Chris Farley's death today :(

 

I didn't think the tiny Matt Damon movie was real until I saw a trailer in the theater today. I genuinely thought it was a meme.

 

I watched an hour or so at TIFF and let me tell you: one of the worst things I’ve seen.

 

That's a bummer to hear. Have only seen like the 30 second or so TV spots, but it seems like a cool idea if done right.

 

If only we could make Matt Damon drastically less noticeable in real life.

 

I still say that movie just doesn't seem like it should be coming out in 2017. It seems like something that would have passed in the 90s

 

He's doing a helluva press junket that's for sure

I'm still intrigued, it's an interesting concept and Alexander Payne has made a lot of great films

 

It looks like the fake Adam Sandler movies from Funny People.

 

I just feel like people complain about movies being unoriginal and then complain that original movies are too weird so what do we do

 

Another problem is that people turn out in droves for sequels and existing IP but original movies normally don't do too well at the box office, which also sends the wrong message to studios.

 

To be fair, I wanted to like it. I think Payne is quite good and I think it’s an intriguing concept, but what I saw just did not work for me.

 

It's probably going to be bad but yeah, basically what ICR said haha.

 

Original is good but something about the trailers for this movie have turned me off. It looks like an original idea but with hollywood drivle written all over it. It looks predictable

Payne always surprises me with making his movies more enjoyable then expected but...the reviews for this aren't really too hot either.

This feels like the kind of movie I'll see for free on a plane someday and never really think about it ever again

 

It isn't really that original of a movie though. If you strip out that setting, the movie looks like a hundred other movies: middle aged man tries to find himself after his marriage ends. It even used the same Talking Heads song in the trailer that so many other movies have.

 

People have been small in movies for decades. It still doesn’t look good

 

Bright and Greatest Showman are definitely fake though

 

I am just posting here to say that I'm watching the recent season of Peaky Blinders and I legit cannot tell any of the women apart. They're mostly brunette women with short finger waves and prominent bone structure and they all kinda dress the same and I am so lost rn

 

Kind of sounds like the female version of AHS: Hotel.

 

Literally every single Hotel dude... So difficult

 

Dunkirk was hard in that regard too, especially since a lot of the characters didn't have names

Anyone else having issues with their Moviepass app: when I click on most of my theaters in the area through the app, it only shows like 3 movies playing, despite there being a ton more if you look through Flixster for example. I guess there's the 'check in if movie missing' option, just seems odd that so many movies don't show up in Moviepass app.
