Yeah, you sealed her fate before she even debuted bros. Give her a second in the ring, maybe even watch a full match. If it’s terrible, then okay, and then give her a chance to get better. Give people a chance god dammit.

 

Or maybe I've already paid money to watch her "act" in things and am totally justified in having the opinion that she's fucking garbage at it.

Charlotte was apparently trash in the USA movie she was in but girl can squeeze out believeable tears in promo on command!

 

For me personally, it doesn't even have to do with talent. It's just annoying when someone gets immediately thrust into the top spot because of their name. Not saying that WWE is wrong by any means. Of course Ronda winning the Rumble is a smart business move. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

I'll happily admit I was wrong if she comes in and is Asuka level in the ring, but something tells me there's a less than 0% chance of that happening.

 

I don't think saying that someone without wrestling experience is likely to not be entertaining as a wrestler is an outlandish claim or even 'sealing her fate before she debuts.'

If I decided to go be a musician, having never made music before, it'd be pretty logical to say "boy, he's probably going to be pretty shitty at it."

 

Also, using Kurt Angle, even in an in-jest/devil's advocate situation is absurd.

Okay, change it to that analogy. I don't think an accomplished guitarist is going to just get a first chair spot with a chicago orchestra and look competent. I get that the entire world is cynical and, to be fair, we all pretty much shit on everything related to WWE, and that gets tiring. But, it's also warranted, IMO, in this situation. I don't know how any one can have any reasonable expectations.

 

If nothing else, she has short, Young Lions kinda matches where she highlights a few moves and then does an armbar. That's more than Dean does.

 

And if she does that, I'd like her more than Dean. But that's not a high bar to clear. I'd rather Dean not even be on the roster most of the time; I find him so completely un-compelling and boring in every facet.

 

i think for 2018, after the shit year for the womens division, i think Rousey could be a good shot in the arm.

I'd have Rousey beat Charlotte...with Asuka beating rousey down the road.

I dont care about match quality (as long as its not the drizzling shits obviously).

 

Matt Riddle, Dan Severn and Shayna Baszler are all examples of folks who were known for their MMA but made a smooth transition into wrestling.

For the record: I agree with you, but there are plenty of success stories out there

its funny how there are pockets of hate for certain wrestlers on various forums. Im on WF.com and Balor is the 'hated' guy on there. here it's ambrose.

Hatred for both is weird to me.

 

Dean is ok, but his bounce off the ropes is the worst.

I don't think anyone is doubting her because she was in MMA. Obviously being an athlete is a plus, but she still needs to prove she knows what she's doing in the ring. Riddle and Baszler went out and learned the trade, they didn't get handed a top spot in WWE, that's my problem with this whole (likely) situation.

 

Next balor match I watch I’m going to keep track how many Times commentary will refer to him as “first universal champion”
