Never noticed the "NBA Fan Component" as a voter before. Looks like it just pulls data from google and social media and makes votes accordingly?

    That seems kinda absurd

There must be more to it; I can't imagine it would have Westbrook in second over Lebron, simply based off name recognition

Kyle Lowry had a great season and his team was 2nd in the east. Makes sense to me. The voting wasn't based off the playoffs.

Blazers played a great game. They just got beat by Curry's 5 threes in overtime (all his threes for the whole game). Even the TNT guys said that was the best game of the playoffs so far. Sucks for all of you who couldn't watch it. And let's not forget the Blazers were supposed to be a bottom 3 team. Making it tough on the champions in the second round is pretty cool.

I think he made a couple threes in regulation as well but yeah good points

I did some digging and it looks like there was fan vote similar to the All Star voting where you could vote on NBA.com, Twitter or Google.

You're right, I think two of them were late in the 4th. But still, everyone is losing their shit over his shooting, but he was 5/16 for threes...

It was just remarkable (and depressing, IMO) to see him catch fire in OT like that

After being rusty and probably tired too. He went from passing up jump shots to knowing they were in immediately lol

Agreed. I'm super bummed cause Blazers were in control of game 2 and let it slip at the very end... They played great and had a good opportunity to win last night but Curry randomly goes for 17 in OT... So I just feel like the series could be reversed right now.

It absolutely could. I'm bummed about it too.

Any idea if the voting for MVP concluded before this game was over? If not, I'm guessing 17 OT points convinced whoever dared to vote for someone else to think twice...

I'm not exactly sure when ballots were cast but MVP has 0% to do with the playoffs. Curry could've had his season end in game 1 of the first round and he'd still have won. I would hope anyone with a vote knows that they shouldn't cast votes based on postseason.

    Good to know, thanks.

I think all awards are voted before post season starts or during the 1st round at the latest

  18. Lebron missed by one vote a few years ago cause the guy was a dipshit.

Simmons was talking about filling out his ballot around the last two games of the season, think the deadline is before the playoffs they just space out the announcements.

  20. As much as I love Lebron, I'm glad to see this. Leonard is so ridiculously good. I feel like I'm stating the obvious when I say that but at the same time it seems like people don't give him the amount of praise he deserves.

For as good as he is, isn't it weird he's never the best player on the court in the series he's in? Like KD is the better player and no would would actually take him over LeBron. I feel like he's constantly underrated and also still has a leap to make to be in the next tier of players. He needs to step up tonight.

Yep. He got screwed. Also should have had at least one other MVP season but voters were mad at his he left Cleveland.
