Bout to take an L on this Brit Lit final I’m pretty sure.

 

Brit lit is so fucking boring

 

i took brit lit in 11th grade, all i remember reading is A Modest Proposal and like, Chaucer? teacher was a lazy stoner, great class

 

Most of it is very uninteresting. There are a few gems here and there, but a lot of it is just so familiar, authors we’ve read throughout the years, that it grows tiresome.

 

I'm having major anxiety about my bachelors. I'm having second thoughts about my assumed major and even college and I'm kinda freakin' out.

 

All I know right now is I think I missed the deadline to submit to graduate with honors but to be honest I'm not sure how much of a shit I give.

 

Early on in the semester in my California Culture class, we had to write a paper about what what it means to be a Californian based on our lived experience. Now, based on all the reading we've done throughout the semester (lol), we are supposed to revise that paper and implement the ideas we've learned. But on of the stipulations is, "do not use direct quotes from the text" wtf.

EDIT: what the hell, but then it says how we should do citations if we directly quote from the text. sooooo can I use quotes or not?

"do not use direct quotes from the text" is the most insane thing i've ever heard. did you post in here earlier about something similar? i swear someone did. that's ridiculous i can't imagine being told that in an assignment

 

Yeah, same teacher but that was for a smaller assignment. This is literally asking me to extrapolate ideas from the text and apply them to the a piece I already wrote. It’s asinine. But the confusion lies in the fact that she then goes on to explain what to do with citations?

 

that's wild. normally i'd be like well there are situations where you should cite even if you're not directly quoted but you said she said "how we should do citations if we directly quote from the text." so lmao idk. sounds crazy

Lmao. I thought this paper I'm working on was due tomorrow but it's due Tuesday hehhhhh. I'm still gonna just finish it and turn it in tomorrow I think. I have too much other shit to do.

 

My calc professor ended up not failing me. Today is a good day
