Ice isn't too prevalent in the meta, is it? Not that it will be a viable competitive poke.

Water seal is rubbish and the fire cat is eh but will probs have a sick evo. Grass owl is alright and I like the typing so will probs give that a run.

Sun legendary is sick, will cop.

 

Sun version and owl starter for me. Easy decision.

 

Owl is the cutest first gen, evolutions have a lot of possibilities.

 

This is probably gonna be the first gen I don't buy both games. Probably not though.

 

Definitely sticking with Moon and probably choosing the owl as my starter. I'm sure I'll get Sun eventually though.

 

Haven't been competitive in over a year. Dragon isn't as big of a threat now? Honestly thought mega salamence with chomp and the rest of the dragons would wreck.

 

Most of the checks I see for it are rock type moves. Primarily stone edge. With the advent of fairy type, you have a much more reliable check there too. Sylveon is the best.

 

I'll get whichever one my girlfriend doesn't want. I always get all three starters though.

 

oh yeah, forgot all about the fairy types. Clefable is so nasty in Smogon OU.

 

I'm going to get Moon. Torn between the owl and the cat, though.

That's the biggest reason I'm out on buying both versions. I'll end up with a fullset just from the listings. The toughest thing will be convincing people to give me legendaries. I have a ton of shiny bait though.

 

popplio just looks like it should be samurott's base form, pretty lazy.

owl's cute, though conceptually i dont understand a grass owl and its typing is terrible.

don't love litten's design, but will prolly end up the coolest line. guessing it evolves into a bengal tiger.

Litten and Moon. I think my boyfriend is gonna go Rowlet and Sun. Neither of us has ever gone with a grass starter before so this is gonna be a first.

 

I'm gonna join this and say I'm going Rowlet and Moon. Though, I do really like Popplio too.
