I don't think anyone that cares about spoilers and hasn't seen it yet is reading the thread. I didn't until i saw it. Just common sense.

I'm just sad that Black Panther was pushed back for Spidey, even though every second Peter Parker was on screen made me giddy. Ryan Coogler plus Chadwick Boseman may make Black Panther one of the best Marvel movies ever, considering he was perfect here.

I just wanna say that I did read your post and only didn't respond because I didn't have much of a response to much of it. I dunno. This has flaws, but all of the action, humor, and drama landed for me. I feel like this is the kind of movie that maybe isn't "Honest Trailer proof" like the filmmakers wanted, but it does everything I like the way I like it. The only moment that took me out was Steve kissing Sharon, seemingly just to silence people who ship him with Bucky. I left the theater excited about everything that transpired and everything coming up.

when I left the theater I was talking with a coworker who also saw it, he brought up how little he was used and I had no idea what the fuck he was talking about haha

This was real fun. It felt very long, even though I was pretty consistently enjoying it. They did a surprisingly good job incorporating all the main characters. And while I get that Spiderman's "thing" is the wise cracking and one liners, some of them (especially the Star Wars joke) were pretty bad

I only knew who Crossbones was because they made a Pop figure of him :dollar:

  8. Peggy's funeral (independent of the Sharon stuff) definitely got to me. I wonder if that's mostly because I watched (and loved) Agent Carter.

Completely under-appreciated show for sure. S2 was especially wonderful from start to finish. To anyone in this thread who didn't watch it, if you have the means, you definitely should.

I've been meaning to watch Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter, but it takes me forever to finish shows.

If there isn't a Agent Carter S3, they should end it with a TV-movie. Or like a double-length episode that would jump around and span the time from the end of S2, the actual formation of SHIELD with Stark, show her slowing down as she gets older, throw in a scene around the time of the Ant-Man appearance, and reveal if Sousa is her mystery husband, throw in the scene from Winter Soldier, and then just do a sweet little retrospective leading into her funeral. Maybe pull all the strings and get Chris Evans to make one more poingant appearance with her between WT and CW.

the more i think about it, the more i don't really like how Cap manages to just free all the other Avengers from The Raft at the end. like, i know he's a super soldier, but (we're led to assume) it's literally just Steve Rogers vs a whole prison worth of guards probably with weapons, and Rogers doesn't even have the shield with him!
that really does feel like kind of a cheap ending, as Jason kind of said. ruins the stakes, when he can just beat the crap out of dozens of people and free his teammates

Yeah. Saw it said on Twitter, the movie invites the Empire Strikes Back comparison but doesn't go all in on the dark ending like that film did

All superhero movies are obviously going to fall into the comicbook tropes. Marvel studios just makes the most entertaining movies.

Saw this movie Thursday night as a birthday present from my in-laws and there hasn't been one day that's gone by where my wife and I haven't legit considered taking our one month old son to the theaters to see it again.

Then I remember that you shouldn't take a one month old out due to him not being immunized yet and also we don't want to be those parents at the theater with a crying baby.

Can't wait to see this again

The shot of her framed photo made me pretty bummed, also ScarJo's "I didn't want you to be alone" line.

    Ew, David

I actually really liked this movie which was surprising because I hate Captain America, I think he's the most boring superhero. Sebastian Stan's screen time and the fact that this was mostly the Avengers and less of just Captain America is probably what saved it for me tbh

Black Panther has a lot more screen time and is involved with more of the story.
You seriously thought he was pushed back?

    Might be Spider-Man...

Movie definitely brought me back after the Ultron suck fest. Bring on Black Panther and Spiderman

This was a huge step up from AoU for me. Like most, I'm most excited for more Black Panther and Spider-Man now.

I could actually do without anymore solo movies and wish they would just move on to Infinity Wars.

  22. More than anything else, I agree with your complaint about how Zemo(?) faked his way into HQ as the psychologist. But don't you dare bring Skyfall into this!!!!!

The solo film was, which is too bad as I'm incredibly excited to see Wakanda.

This was entertaining for sure, but I honestly felt more after watching Batman v. Superman.
