Student loan in the UK is much nicer than in the US. I owe about 12 grand, but I pay off about 25 pound a month haha. It just automatically comes out of your paycheck, and only when you're earning a certain amount. It's basically like a wee graduate tax.

If you're not earning enough, you don't have to worry about it.

That awkward moment when your solution to school loans is more school.

haha right? I've essentially finished five years worth of college and just have an associates (that I got last week. lol) to show for it. I work with guys, who are making the same amount as me, who have masters. I just don't know what I want to do. I'd still like to go back for forensic anthropology, but I can't afford to leave my job.

    Ha, I feel you.

I took three years to get an associates degree... in fine arts from a community college, because I changed my mind but still wanted a piece of paper out of it. Then I did another year and a half for something else before dropping out (with my good grades in tact at least). I just finished up two years of online school to finally get a bachelors in Christian Ministry Leadership, so it technically took me almost seven years of schooling to get to where I wanted. Thankfully I was at least able to avoid crushing debt (good, since churches sometimes pay crap).

Do you like your current job, or is it sort of just decent enough and good money?

It's enough that a person who isn't frivolous with their spending could easily live off of. lol. I got out of the Army and basically said, today would be a good day to buy my dream car. Thankfully, I was dreaming of a Mini and not a sports car.

Ah, yes, the good ol' struggling of living outside one's means. I'm glad I had a comfortable-but-humble enough upbringing to not have many spending temptations outside of comics.

Man every time I think about going back to school (dropped out when I was 19 bc of s long story and stupid circumstances) I see people talking about college debt and I'm like.....ehhhhhhh...

Willy P. It felt like no one really cared about your education, drugs were rampant, and there were way too many bears.

I'm the same age as a lad from work, he's from Northern Ireland and he's 22k in debt from uni and I have none. It's crazy.

    College is ~"free" in Ireland.

I'm very fortunate to have $0 in student debt. Never had to take a loan out. Basically my parents paid for my associates degree which took the first 3 years of college since they were saving for that for a long damn time. Once I got full time at my job in 2008 or so, my job reimbursed me for classes after I pay for it up front.. I only took 1-2-3 classes a semester so that way I didn't go over the reimbursement limit for calendar year. I also took 3 years off school which was smart at first for my specific situation at the time, but I drug it out longer than I should have. Now, I'll finally have my bachelors degree in the fall. I think it was 100% the right move for me to drag it out over time like that as to not have any loan debt. IDK what I would have done if I wouldn't have had my parents pay for the start though.....

Basically. lol. Classes would be canceled all of the time because bears would be wandering the parking lot.

This is a humorous conversation to me just because I thought you were referring to the gay subculture at first because I don't associate actual bears with New Jersey at all.

Holy lol. How terrible would that make me? Haha.

We have a lot of bears in North Jersey. The complex I work in is on a mountain in the a forest and we get them wandering in all of the time.

  23. We have a lot of bears in CT as well. A bunch live in the woods behind my house and eat my neighbors bird feeders. My tiny dog chased an adolescent bear up a tree once, my biggest regret is not getting that on video

That's awesome. I live in the foothills of the Smokies so I'm not surprised anymore when I hear about/see bears. Guess it makes sense that they'd be all up the Appalachians.
