Yeah, if you set it up on both and fix the data in iTunes it should carry over and stay that way. I did still occasionally have problems with it replacing rarer versions of songs with whatever's in the iTunes Store or explicit songs with clean, so I just wound up splitting between local music and Spotify. Really hoping this supposed Apple Music redesign fixes these kinds of problems, I'd love to keep it all in one place again.

 

What do you guys use as a "word processor" app (ie Microsoft Word) on your Macbook? Thank you!

 

I use Microsoft Word.

 

I write LaTeX in Emacs and render it to a PDF, of course.

 

Just picked up a Retina Macbook Pro (I know I jumped the gun early with an update coming soon but not worried about it).

I'm having a slightly annoying problem with Safari logging me out of every site when I quit Safari. If I just close the window I'm ok, but fully quitting logs everything out. I haven't had a Mac for a few years since my 7 year old Macbook became so slow I quit using it, but I really don't remember having to log into websites as often as this even when quitting Safari.

Things I've checked:

-Removing all extensions
-Checked all cookies and cache options to ensure I'm allowing them
-Not in private browsing
-Every possible option in system settings that I could find

I know I can just save my passwords and log in quickly each time, but I prefer just staying logged in if possible. I've done a ton of googling and can find a few people with similar issues but no answers.

I'm open to Chrome and Firefox, but I downloaded Chrome and quickly checked with the same process and had the same behavior. Is this a new Yosemite security feature or something like that?

 

I use Pages and export to .docx when needed.

 

Textmate and Marked 2 for any exporting.

 

Is it actually storing the cookie? Like if you click "remember me on this site" - and then check the details page in the settings, do you see:

I like the new MacBook but I still fee like it just isn't wort the price when a Pro is so close to the same price.

 

At its price point, it severely underperforms, but the design is top-notch.

 

I'm seeing all the sites in question in the cookies detail list. Though, when I booted up this morning, the only site I was not still logged into was Reddit. Yesterday it was kicking me out of everything.

I tried the steps in the link but didn't see the cookies.plist file in my cookies folder. Don't know if that's changed since the article was published.

If it's only Reddit giving me that problem I can deal with that, was just annoying when it was every site yesterday. Not sure what changed overnight but oh well!

 

Yeah. People always talk about the portability of the MacBook as a reason for its price but for my purposes, the pro is perfectly portable and so the light weight of the MacBook makes it not worth it's price at all.

 

I wanted a Macbook for portability. But I went with Pro because they're the same price here and I still can't believe how great the MBP is for bringing about even tho my last 2 laptops have been smaller.

 

If the macbook was 800-1000 I would probably do it. 1300 is just absurd when you can get a base model pro for the same price.

 

Can anyone help me? I'm having trouble staying signed in to some websites on Chrome on my Mac. I've cleared my cache, restarted, etc. and the problem persists. I just reinstalled my browser a few days ago, could that be it?

 

If you have music in applelossless form and you download this music from your iCloud music library on to your phone,.. do you get the song in the lossless quality that you own it in??

Also is there a way to get music in high quality on your phone? I have Apple Music but sometimes if I LOVE a record I will buy it in highest quality, applelossless or other forms, so how do I get that high quality version of the song on my phone?

My student email will never go away. Thank you google for convincing my alma mater to switch to Gmail my senior year.

 

For Apple Music? Believe it's billed on a specific day of the month, so maybe that's why.

 

no when you but albums on itunes it takes a while for them to bill you

 

I get bills for apps I buy so long after I purchase them I think I've had my account hacked.
