My strongest feeling if she was to be related to anybody was obi wan but i doubt it.

What I really believe is that jakku is an important aspect to it all and not just an irrelevant planet. Kylo’s force choke/"what girl?" moemnt and “It is you" in the novelization after the lightsaber goes to her in their fight I think are the biggest indications that she’s not normal. There’s some kind of legend or myth about a girl from Jakku. Maybe the daughter of palpatine or somebody where her parents hade to hide her so they couldnt find her and use her power.

 

There is a potential origin for Rey in the new Battlefront... but I find it hard to believe they would show us that in a video game before a movie.

 

I like the Battlefront theory.
do not want her to be a Skywalker. Kylo is the Skywalker we are following in this trilogy.

 

this is going to become a new background for me, though.

I just dont want her to be lukes daughter. It feels like such a cop out. Its too easy. Not everyone needs to be a skywalker descendant for a good story.

 

I’m fine with a kenobi or palpatine. Idk who else she could be that would be interesting unless she’s a descendant of the original force weilders that wrote the journal of the whils or whatever

 

Seeing someone say they think she's "a Palpatine" got me thinking...

Has his full name ever been said? Does he have a first name? Is Palpatine even his last name?

I feel like as time goes on, I care less and less about Rey's parentage. If she's a nobody, cool. If she's related to someone we know, cool. At this point, I have no real expectations.

Rey is almost definitely not any type of Skywalker. Educated guess having read all available canon material. Excited to find out. I believe that Daisy said we'll be finding out about her parents in the next movie.

 

2 weeks away. I’ve never been more excited for a movie or have accumulated excitement for anything for 2 years and I’m nervous that’s going to cause me to be underwhelmed from my unrealistic expectations lol

 

I just don't think there's any way this movie won't exceed expectations. I know that's a bold and risky thing to say, but I am confident Rian is going to deliver an absolute masterpiece.

 

Losing my mind waiting for this thing haha. Having dreams about it nightly.

the hollywood and london premieres should be soon. i remember lots of celebs on my twitter feed tweeting about seeing TFA like a week or so prior to release. thats when it got really difficult for me. knowing there were people who have seen it besides the cast and crew haha

 

I keep telling anyone who listens to be prepared for the best Star Wars film ever. No one ever believes me, but I'm just as confident as you.

 

The first premiere is in Japan on Wednesday the 6th, then the LA one is Friday the 8th :O

I’m worried about leaks after the 6th.

 

Maybe I was just cautious, but I don't remember there being big leaks after TFA screenings.

 

My family and girlfriend are making fun of me for closing my eyes and covering my ears anytime a TLJ ad comes on TV. Haven't watched anything since SW celebration. Hoping I can hold off until the afternoon of the 15th

 

honestly, I think people just respect star wars enough to not spoil shit. Maybe i'm just naive, and I know there are jerks out there who don't care, but I saw no people spoiling star wars anywhere on any of my feeds, and i know a lot of people who have no bones about spoiling stuff like game of thrones, walking dead, etc. anything spoilery.

I have a friend who didnt see TFA for over a year and didn't know that Han died. I was blown away that they didnt somehow already find out about it.
