Sure, he could fuck it up. But Larry Bird has a pretty solid track record as an executive so far.

Yep, George hill > kawhi Leonard

Right, because that one trade completely negates everything else he's accomplished as an executive.

Bird is an average GM, imo. He's been absolutely great in the draft, but team building and such, he's had as many hits as he has misses.

"great" like picking guys that fit the system there? Not like star players or anything. If that's the case, definitely.

I'm really pulling for turner but I cant anoint him a slam dunk after just one year haha

Well, yeah. I mean, to be fair, there haven't been a whole lot of superstars available when he was drafting. They've been a decent team for most of his tenure. But getting PG, and Turner were great picks. Even trading for Hibbert on draft night was a good move despite what became of Hibbert later on. Stephenson was a good pick in the second round.

He took Hansbrough over Teague, and Shawne Williams over Rondo though. Those were two big misses, but otherwise he's been a good drafter.

Kawhi really thrives because the Spurs taught him out to shoot, making him one of the best all around players instead a great defensive player that has offensive limitations. I don't think that happens in Indiana or most other places.

I don't think they'd have drafted him anyway having PG and Granger at the time, when people were wondering if the two of them would even work, let alone Kawhi.

Nah they wanted Kahwi, he was their choice and he wasn't supposed to fall that far. But overlapping with PG and Granger probably sealed the trade.

Hansborough is one that sticks out a lot, plumlee felt like a reach too at the time.

Not gonna lie, I completely forgot Plumlee existed. That was a bad pick too.

He's been okay for Milwaukee, only because Monroe can't play d for crap. Still was way higher than most projected for a hustle guy. Even though it was at the end of the 1st, a bunch of talented guys were picked in that 2nd round. Ezeli was probably the only guy you could say should've been the guy over him in that 26-30

I liked what I saw of him in Phoenix the year after he left here, but I think everyone on that Suns team overachieved that year. They even made Gerald Green look good.

Once again, I'd be fine with Hornacek

Hornacek is about the only coach mentioned that I've not completely rolled my eyes at the idea of.

Oof, I forgot he drafted Psycho-T and Plumlee.

  20. Hansbrough arguably had the best collegiate career in UNC history. It wasn't a terrible pick at the time.

Missed opportunity for the Heat to go up 2-0. But I'll take 1-1 going back to Miami for games 3-4. Win one on the road was still the goal.

  24. Yep. He just doesn't have the size to translate his game into the pros. But I still don't think taking a shot at him in the teens is the worst idea ever based on his production in college.
