I will admit, I’ve grown to like Happiness Is quite a bit more. Tidal Wave and the Self-Titled still have maybe 2 tracks each I return to though.

I was thinking earlier too....this is one band that I love more than I used to. By that I mean, I was introduced to this band in 2003 with TAYF. TAYF and WYWTB were obsessions of mine and became soundtracks to my adolescence. Then their sound changed with LN through TW. Most bands I listen to who evolve or change their sound over the years have lost my interest at one point or another bc that love/passion I had for the early music was no longer there or wasn't nearly as impactful to me. TBS, Saves The Day, and Yellowcard (I guess we can throw Blink in the mix too with the S/T album) are just a few bands that mean more to me now then they did back then and these bands meant A LOT to me back in the day. IDK...just blabbing.

Yea that makes sense. I wouldn’t have considered TBS one of my favorite bands until relatively recently. Certainly helps that a lot of bands broke up, but their last two are stellar.

Me and Adam are both 36 year old dudes at this point. I love how they matured as a band from the self-titled forward, and I feel that this has everything to do with the original TAYF members getting back together and making amends. Adam and John both lyrically and vocally complete each other, and they've been with me through it all. The young dude that once could relate to TAYF/WYWTB/LN matured to love and relate to what they are doing since the self-titled record, and I couldn't be more thankful.

Somehow, I've missed watching this. God I fucking love this band, and what a fucking amazing record Tidal Wave is.

the last two records have been straight up wonderful and are probably more meaningful to me as an adult than any of their previous albums. i revisited tidal wave last week and if anything i love it more now

its worth noting that today is Eddie's birthday and the band has already posted a birthday tweet for Keith Buckley and not Eddie, and they do make a point to tweet out all member's birthdays.

EDIT: they just posted, thank goodness!

That's crazy. I wonder what happened. Even if he left because of the issues with his kid's health, you would assume that would be a pretty amicable parting of ways.

I saw both Adam and Mark liked Eddie’s Instagram post yesterday, so they’re at least still friends.

I honestly think that Eddie is very much still in. Not sure why people are worried about this, Eddie isn't really that outspoken in social media these days and regardless if he had to skip some shows for personal family health issues, it doesn't mean that he's out.

He hasn't missed some shows though. He's missed like three straight tours. With different reasons/excuses made by the band as to why he wasn't there. I personally think he's done. It wouldn't surprise me if he plays a few shows with them here and there, but I don't think he's a full-time member anymore.

I think the band will always be friendly with Eddie, as he is the creator of the band I wouldn't be surprised if when they announce the next album, or the next tour, they release some sort of statement that says something like 'Eddie has chosen to retire from TBS but he'll always be a part of TBS' type of statement.

I also don't doubt that he has something going on in his personal life with a family health issue, and I get wanting to remain private, but at some point - after years of missing shows - you or the band has to say something.

i actually havent seen or heard them give any excuses, what have they said?

i agree with all of this, though. it's been entirely too long for no official announcement about his absence.

I've seen the band comment years ago that he was dealing with a 'family issue' and someone I believe posted on here that the band mentioned he was sick at one of the shows they were at. But for the most part, I think they just ignore it. If you ever do a Twitter search for Eddie Reyes following one of their shows, you'll see dozens of tweets from fans tweeting to the band asking where Eddie was. I think they just just put out a statement so speculation stops. With the tumultuous history with this band, there is a lot of speculation.

As far as I can recall, Eddie missed the last couple of one-offs + Riot Fest, the summer tour, and half the European tour. Over the summer they did some fests, and I think he was at a date that was local to Ohio and the one that was the day before. His daughter once WAS hospitalized last September, so he missed the first Tidal Wave show (the release date in Chicago and maybe another one after that but I can’t remember).

From what I’ve heard from the band, they do consider Eddie a member, and there is every intention of him coming back. (This was said after the Baltimore show - John did a DJ set and some of the band was milling about.)

    Anyway, that’s all I’ve got.

I should have bought the Happiness Is Complete Recordings Box Set when that came out. Shit I am regretting that.

Listened to that album A LOT today. It's aging like a fine wine. I like it more now than I did when it first dropped.
