If These Accusers Are Telling The Truth, Why Haven't They Outed ME Yet?

 

Haven’t listened to Brand New in four days, it feels weird. I’ve never gone this long before...

I actually saw them on Friday night with sorority noise as the story was breaking and it made me feel a lot better about everything, good call. I’m betting a run and Home will help me get my head on straight.

 

Yea I found the hotelier really comforting.

 

It helps to know that they're good dudes with seemingly the best intentions for making their fans feel safe.

 

Goodness and Left and Leaving have been getting me through the past few days

 

The defense of what is so obviously true at this point by these fans is disgusting. But the cult of fans for this band was hands down always the worst part about this band.

Let me preface by saying I probably will never listen to this band the same. But, I never considered myself a huge BN fan. I always loved YFW, DE and TDAG. I could have done entirely without ever hearing Daisy and I was good with Science Fiction.
But I remember trying to have discussions on AP before it was Chorus with fans about Daisy and how I thought it was bad and I remember essentially being like attacked for not liking it. It made listening to the band unenjoyable sometimes because I felt like I could never have a conversation about anything I disliked about the band.

It appears those people will defend just about anything that has to do with Jesse Lacey at this point though....and that is terrifying.

 

Vinnie wrote must of Daisy.

 

I think Daisy is the only record I will really return to. Although probably will skip Bed

 

I mean it never mattered to me who wrote it, I just didn't personally enjoy it. Unfortunately to most BN fans it was like some ungodly sin. It made trying to talk in public forums about it exhausting.

It seems some of those same people are now defending what is a disgusting offense.

 

lots of people don't like daisy and literally nobody cares. gonna go out on a limb and guess that you were probably being a dick about it

 

Has anyone removed SF from their 'Top (insert number here) albums of 2017' list due to this?

 

not sure what caused that reaction! i like to think i'm a pretty decent guy. my point was the fans that seem to defend anything JL did were always numbing to me. and now even more so.

 

I just thought of the lyric “if somehow I was new and everything was unsaid, I’d go and buy hammer never sing again”

 

Mine is cancelled.

 

It's still my favorite album of 2017 but I think I'm going to just not mention it at all when I post my list, it doesn't feel right.

Or if I do- it'll require a massive asterisk next to it

 

my end of year lists take into consideration listenability going forward, so for an album i'm never going to listen to again that basically makes it not count

i've always struggled with that. there are albums i listened to so heavily for elongated periods of time (6 months to a year) and then they've completely fallen off my radar going forward aside from potentially listening for the sake of nostalgia.

i revisit my lists a lot and see a ton of that. i just looked at 2012 before and saw Circa Survive - Violent Waves, Vacationer - Gone...those were two that stuck out for me.

I still drive to Bloomington every three months or so to check it out
