I know everything looks super awful in hindsight regarding BN but what really creeps me out right now is the SF cover. I know people brought up the TDAG cover but I think SF is worse. Ironically enough I was explaining SF to a female friend and when she saw the cover she commented on how short the skirts were in the pic (because of the jumping) and I had never paid that close attention to it, but after she said it it stood out to me and now after all this news... eeeesh. And I always kind of thought the girls on the cover were teenagers / early 20's at absolute oldest. Like they were ditching a party or something. Feel gross just looking at the damn thing.

I got curious. Instead of using reddit or fb, I used twitter. I can't believe how I'm seeing otherwise could be intelligent young women, with pinned tags about feminism, using the fucking mental issue card in the first accuser, and talking about the second accuser from Pitchfork about how she "profited" from them and worked for them up until 2010. NO SHIT SHERLOCK. Trump is "president". Russia runs the world. There's alt-rights growing in fucking trees literally everywhere, not just in the US.

We are all doomed.

Also the strangest thing about the cover is probably still the fact that it was on fakealbumcovers on reddit in like 2012 or something. That shocked me.

i know people were talking about maradona and sic transit (understandably), but honestly spin light is the one that i keep thinking about. obviously the "make girls panic" line, and also just the whole song is about him being away on tour and (presumably) talking to/meeting up with these girls.

I feel bad for saying this because of people with tattoos talking about this, because of people that have that art on their skin. But also that I should have acknowledged that that "art" was creepy and screaming pedo imagery since TDGARIM: two predators, one prey, which is a freaking CHILD. Daisy, a predator. sf, two preys literally jumping and I could have a fucking thesis on how fucking problematic this cover is and let's not even start making think about "who are these people? Where are these two girls? How old are they? It was right in the front of anyone's noses all the fucking long. It's insane. And I say that because I did partially buy the narrative, not integrally, but partially. I believed he was an asshole, I saw blogs and posts here and there about him sleeping with underage kids way back in the day, and while didn't have a face, neither all the details, it raised a flag. But looking back and looking at face value tdgarim's covers alone forward I keep thinking, how couldn't I have noticed before? It's right in front of me.

 

That's why I sent the message saying to shut it down. You'd honestly be better making it private than letting it fester.

 

I choose to believe that boy who blocked his own shot is still an honest apology to someone Jesse decided to leave because of his short comings... which seem pretty obvious now.. and it’s still messed up. Fuck

 

One of my friends has been posting those screen shots of that friend calling one of the victims a liar. Great... This friend was so vocal about not supporting Brand New anymore when the allegations surfaced, and now she's posting this shit? Guess I'll need to have a chat with her about it, victim blaming will never ever be okay. Ugh

 

What's the point in calling them liars when Jesse already admit it...

 

They'd probably say:

- Some of the stories weren't out yet when he apologized
- he didn't address them by name so who knows who he was talking about!
- or, maybe the worst, he's just apologizing so people quit talking about it
