Check Twickets out for face value tickets (if anyone is selling them on there) it may save you money if the shows sold out (rather than touts).

I was actually just going to talk about Jackson as well as he just came on the radio. He seriously has gotten off pretty lightly. He did some pretty crook stuff

Somebody mentioned fake accounts trying to reach the fans earlier today...that's another thing...did you see Brian Fallon's IG post yesterday? Somebody under his name was trying to DM some girls

Noticed that. He’s been making it known that there are fake accounts.

Fair. I get what you're saying. I just think they're going to get it from someone else anyway so you could put the opportunity to a good use. I understand your decision though. I have spent like... $200 towards Brand New this year.

And where does it stop? Should I feel bad for purchasing the new KD album off PMT too? Idk.

Honestly the current feeling toward MJ seems to be more along the lines of him being one of the children whose lives were so ruined by this industry that a lot of his bizarre behavior was not necessarily malicious or dangerous but just his way of dealing with what he went through. I think it's more likely that we will find out more and more information about him being misunderstood and ruined by the public for it than more stories of him hurting people. His life is incredibly tragic either way.

I always felt weird making judgements about that situation, especially since I didn't know about it until right after he died. Were we supposed to bring it up at every point while she was in mourning? I legit had no clue how to react. Making an already difficult time for her even worse seemed wrong.

I feel this, it was my original plan and I think anyone intending to do it is awesome. However, this whole thing has been pretty troubling and exhausting and so I would rather just not give them my money.

I have the rest of their catalogue on vinyl as well as the TDAG demos cassette, perhaps I'll find a way to turn those into a donation instead of them just chilling on a shelf.

If anyone tries to use tragedy to justify what he's done, I'll truthfully lose my god damn mind.

Let's get these people moving faster!

The public discourse regarding these stories is always interesting depending on circumstances (country, which genders, are they still together, etc.) - a prime example that I talked about with friends on the weekend is the French president, and the fact he's been with his wife since she was his teacher. I don't think people know how to evaluate their history knowing they've now been together so long. Obviously her behaviour was completely inappropriate at the time, and it's impossible to know how that influenced their future. But it's clear the public doesn't know how to approach that situation and those like it, and it's understandably complicated.

I'm not implying the Jesse example is complicated - it isn't. It's despicable stuff. My tangent is that there are a lot of other public examples like Emmanuel Macron or Paul Walker that force reflection on public figures and their lives,

    It's my mum's dodge caravan

Not in a fantastic mental state atm and previously I'd listen to Brand New to try and make myself feel better. Even if I was somehow able to justify to myself that it's okay to listen to them again, the actual music is completely ruined because I'll just feel disgusted by this whole situation and what he did and it'll be at the forefront of my mind. It's not like they were the only band of their kind, but their music became a sort of safe space (as twisted as that sounds now) just because it was for me.

I honestly don't know what to do now, or what to listen to, or if to listen to any music at all. Well aware that this is trivial to what the victims have been forced to go through, and such a relationship with a band's music was always going to be an unhealthy one i'd have to move on from, but this has left a hole for me I'm not too sure how to fill. As MO put it, a crutch is a crutch. Anyway, apologies for my selfish venting, but don't really have anywhere else I can say this and it's made me feel a little better.

I think this situation becomes more difficult based on region. For me, in Canada, and many across Europe, 16 is the age of consent. It warps my perspective of the situation, which may be illegal or something where you are but it literally legal here. Idk, I don't have much to add, I am still a huge Porches fan, but I wonder what my perspective would be if I was born/raised somewhere where the law is different on the situation.

Glad I couldn't go to their Chicago show and ended up selling my ticket. Sexual addiction and his mental health issues is absolutely not an excuse for what he did. Hopefully he actually gets charged for the crimes he committed.

Also as someone who has been sexually abused in the past I'm not sure if him reaching out to the people he abused would be a good thing. A victim hearing from their abuser would probably just cause more pain. There is no forgiveness for acts like this.
