Picked up WW2 because I used to love CoD when I was younger. I truly suck at online FPS now. It's comical

 

That’s fucking bullshit, I feel horrible for that guy. He doesn’t deserve that for doing his job.

 

You have to go back all the way to the division, and scrap for talking about some bugs in the new AC when overall between those two releases has been a lot of good stuff and the improvement of Origins over past AC games is massive. So... You kinda prove my point . You're saying Ubi deserves criticism as if they've hurt people but EA doesn't. Just doesn't make sense to me

 

All games are continually a hairbreadth away from breaking. AC is very ambitious on top of that.

 

I never once defended EA in any of this, I just said I was buying Battlefront II regardless of complaints because frankly, they don’t really bother me and honestly are not that bad as people make them out to be. Also, if I really had to be honest, AC:O was honestly more of the same to me personally. Were there improvements? Of course and they were welcome, but it was the same clunky game the last few were at its core but now you have a drone bird. It was honestly disappointing to me personally.

 

Hell, I haven’t even bought another new EA product this year.

 

I think this is being extremely over critical of a game that has taken the time to improve upon its past mistakes. Does it have it flaws? Of course but so does just about every game out there.

They made a big deal out of how they were going to take a year off to develop it and the end results were not impressive to me.

 

I take this back, I forgot I had the new ME. Crazy to think that came out in the spring, feels like forever ago with how this year has been.

They did not, the media did, and it's of course complete nonsense because it implies people make these games within one year normally

 

They did though, there was a new AC title every fall starting with Brotherhood. JK, I know they were developing them simultaneously

 

... and they all had 3 to 5 years of development time (instead of one year as is implied). There is more than one AC team. For example: the core team that made Brotherhood went on to make either Unity or Syndicate (can't remember which one, but one of those) right after finishing Brotherhood.

Side note on Origins: it's definitely different. The combat, the RPG elements, even the core gameplay. It's a reinvention. One of the reasons for that is that it at one point was meant to be a Prince Of Persia reboot.

 

Reading through some of the comments on the battlefront subreddit are horrific. Really glad I only go to a few video game subreddits. Pokemon and Overwatch are NEVER this toxic. Hell, even the pro-wrestling one isn't nearly this bad.

 

The Overwatch and OverwatchUniversity subreddits are excellent.

 

I hadn't seen university until now, but this is excellent. Really awesome stuff.

 

I think it was the revelations team that did unity. Black flag team did origins. Ubisoft Quebec did syndicate, and that was their first time with ac.

 

AC Origins is an overhaul of AC, truly. It really doesn't feel like previous AC games. I'd easily rec it to people who say they don't like AC but like other open world RPGs (think Elder Scrolls, Horizon ZD, etc). Because, that's really how it feels like. It's exploration heavy and VERY loot heavy, focuses on leveling with a skill tree and upgrades of weapons and armor, has unique stories for every side mission, it's very rewarding overall, and they took out some of the mundane elements of gameplay (eavesdropping/tailing), and completely changed the combat system. And they brought back some stuff that made it good in previous entries, such as the third-person modern day adventures a la Desmond. Like, it's really just not the same. It's not perfect and besides a lag here or there, I haven't encountered any glithces/bugs. I'm personally glad they took the year off.

No offense but uh, you never seem impressed. Maybe AC and Watch Dogs just aren't for you, but I feel like you're unnecessarily nitpicking about Ubi's franchises when they've improved over time, and simultaneously EA has gotten worse. You seem to expect perfection from Ubi but when people get intense over EA, you say exactly what I say about how people are acting like they've killed someone, lol

You've said this twice now and uhhh...it doesn't add to the convo and it doesn't help either. I'm just asking out of genuine concern here, not malice - are you OK man? None of this personal, I think it's an interesting conversation to have.

 

Could be, it's all a blur. Point is, the "two years to make it better" narrative is nonsense.

 

It’s really helped out my playing, lots of great insight and advice in there.
