Is he touring with them? Yes. Until he drops off the tour he's guilty by association.

Before more misinterpretation occurs, we're all on the same page. bradpetrik is referring to the Reddit posters, not me. I think fenway interpreted as the opposite. It's okay, it happens.

yeah i thought it was weird cuz you had liked my post about it and so it would be an odd thing to like my interpretation of it and how its about innocence, but then also say the song was about rape 2 minutes after. i knew something didnt line up. glad i caught it before things got out of hand.

And that's why you always leave a note.

I’m not positive if you’re agreeing or disagreeing with me here, but just clarifying that yes, I’m also of the mindset that innocent until proven guilty does not apply in situations like this.

"I think Jesse Lacey is just a dick," he says. "He just sucks. He's not a good person."

It makes me more think that Adam might have had an idea of something like this but nothing specific or with hard evidence. Also, someone like Jesse who has the capability to manipulate a little girl like that is probably an asshole in some other aspects of his personal life and maybe that's what Adam is talking about.

Most importantly I feel awful for the victims of this man. That is the most important thing.

But on a way less important note, I am a little sad that I never will see Brand New. I was going to go to the Chicago show last month but there is no way he will ever get my money now. I was just wearing the TDAG mask and tee shirt on Halloween 2 weeks ago. This sucks all the way around.

If I were in a band now - and I've seriously considered reaching out to people I know in up-and-coming bands to make sure that they know how to handle themselves and be a sounding board because I don't want anyone getting hurt - I would limit my interactions. No sharing of phone numbers, no following people on Twitter, ensuring I cannot get direct messages *anywhere*. Yeah, it sucks because it limits interaction, but that's a wall that needs to be built because the onus is not on people to not be victims but on those in some sort of power or privilege to control it.

Edit: I want to clarify what I meant and removed the part that I realize was being taken the wrong way because I didn't explain myself well. They have always been predatory, shitty people. I'm not excusing their behavior. But the scene gave them a platform to exploit for their behavior. It amplified their power and privilege to the extent that they were able to harm women across the country rather than just their local scene.

I've got a lot of merch to get rid of. I had a piece of art with TDAG cover art on it in my bedroom and we took it down last night.

Not attacking you personally but fuck this notion. I just turned eighteen 2 months ago. I know not to harass, manipulate, rape, or assault women. Please don't try to lower standards or take away from his personal responsibility for this. He and any other people like him are 100% responsible for their actions regardless of age, social status, popularity, intoxication level, wealth, etc

But are you in a position of sudden privilege and power? You're missing that condition.

I am not excusing his behavior. I'm merely stating that the conditions were ripe for it.

yeah i can't agree or defend the "they got famous too quick and couldnt handle it" thought process. child abuse and sex abuse is not something that should be clouded with "fame" or any public recognition. if these allegations are true, he knew exactly what he was doing.

That's absolutely not what I'm saying. He knew what he was doing and he was able to do it because he was in a position of power and privilege.

The point I'm getting at is that a lot of shitty people ended up in a position of power within the music scene and it allowed them to take advantage of people.

It’s been 12 hours... but okay. Agree to disagree here.

He (Kevin) May very well be “guilty”, but let’s not lionize him or anyone else until we have more information on that front. Until then, there is only one person who should be on the chopping block.

yeah i agree. the innocent until proven guilty thing for me is really just wishful thinking . its selfish to say that it broke my heart because the only real victim here is the girl. im still holding on to that .0001 percent chance of this being untrue. but yeah they have been my favorite band for over 11 years now and their music save me through a phase of my life. so this is really hard for me to swallow been bothered by this all day. i know at the end of the day its the victim who we should commend for speaking up and feel sorry for

yeah just looking for any possibility that this isnt true. wishful thinking from a heartbroken fan who cant accept the truth. but im sincerely more heartbroken for the victim

I hear you. The only thing I’m holding out hope for is that there aren’t more victims here.

Martha who were supposed to be supporting them in Glasgow and London next week have pulled out of these shows. Good on them, big move to make.

The white dudes on fb who keep saying “burden of proof lies with the accused” and that her story has no credibility because she won’t ahow proof are the worst.
