about what you would expect, decent amount of jokes, people saying "well it was a different time and everyone has baggage so what do you do?!?!? you can't call everyone out!" and some people actually acknowledging how bad this is

 

I wonder if this spreads like “Alternative Press” level big or if it stays kind of in these small die hard music fan communities, and also if that plays a determining factor on a response from the band

 

Decent amount of jokes? You mean one joke. And the whole "baggage" remark you made. There's not a single comment in there that could be construed in that manner. The reddit thread is full of confused people that are just as concerned as people here.

 

Given that the 11/6 hoax made it out of the subreddit and into more mainstream publications, and how similar stories on this topic are becoming public, I can certainly see this getting some traction.

 

yeah i'm far less concerned about the "more recent" accusations, as we don't know what even happened there, and the comment made was "word on the street is..."

but reading what the few girls who have posted personal accounts have said, that's deeply troubling and needs a statement.

i'm not ready to completely swear this band off, but no statement would be a very poor showing.

 

Just read Louis Ck's statement. Certainly doesn't make anything he did ok at all and he needs to do more but it's a step in the right direction. Owning up to your mistakes and honesty will always set you free. He still has a lot of work to do but at least him unlike others is actually willing the take the heat head on and not run away from it and deny deny deny

 

nope. he's turned away from these comments in the past. he knew about this. he only made this statement when he was backed into a corner.

statements aren't in vacuums, context counts, and the context makes this statement horrid. not to mention he's entirely focused on himself rather than the victims in the statement

 

I wonder if this all plays a part to why the band stopped interacting with fans between deja and tdag. They almost broke up a bunch of times. I wonder if this plays a part.

 

The lyrics and mood of the band certainly took a turn in that time. Though I think the one commentor puts a timestamp of roughly 10 years ago, so 2006/7 TDAG album cycle still.

You want to hope that he, at minimum, figured out around then that what he was doing was monumentally shitty and criminal, and decided to change and stopped doing it around then. But that still leaves a lot of exploited girls in the wake of his actions that he, apparently, never seemed to try to make right.

 

Really getting my entire world of entertainment picked up like a piggy bank and having all the dollar coins shaken out.

Damn is all I can say. Just damn. The girl Nicole saying she was like for years manipulated by him and what not made me pissed off and sad. Like I want to believe it's due to naivity of the seriousness of doing shit like that when you're a touring rockstar and your world is blowing up. But, her story puts him at my current age when it happened, and I sure as hell know what the hell is appropriate and what is downright gross and appalling behavior.

I haven't seen the actual accusations yet, but man this is not sounding good.

 

I would like to know what you think a sufficient response is. I'm totally in the camp that these actions are beyond fucked up, but what do you want to hear from these people? You complained about the responses on reddit about Lacey (which are just as negative as they are here), and now the C.K. response isn't a start? He admits guilt in the response, acknowledges the pain that this has caused the women, and acknowledges that he has damaged the lives of the women.

 

this statement could use a legitimate apology to the women first. and focus less on his own reputation. also not ignoring the allegations even when asked about them for years.

 

I didn't get any sincerity at all from the CK post tbh, the way it started off was just like "i learned forcing people to look at my dick isnt ok" like it's half a joke to him.

idk, maybe i'm over nitpicking a response but his statement didn't seem to reek of remorse.

 

I posted in the comedy thread yesterday that there are going to be tons of celebrities exposed here in the next few days/weeks/months and every celebrity is probably thinking long and hard about how shitty they were to women/men in their past.

This is incredibly disappointing and unsettling if true.

Honestly, I'm to the point now where I just assume all celebrities, athletes, high profile people on a pedestal are just scum assholes who think they can get away with whatever they want to.

 

Exactly key word being start. He still has a long way to go tho. Sad for the victims especially of course but it seems like he legitemately regrets and realizes that he massively messed up and is paying the price for it now (as he should)

 

Yeah the beginning was weird for sure. The way he chose to word those first few sentences seemed very odd to me. Definitely strange.

 

It's almost like hard to believe that you would learn that lesson later in life like he puts it. I mean seriously dude?

Edit: I'm aware that a purge is happening of all shitty famous men, and thank God for that. But I was unaware Jesse would be brought into it somehow.

TL;DR

Jesse is being accused by one girl in particular of soliciting nude pictures from her when he was 24 and her 15, and goes on the accuse him of masturbating on a skype call. She claims to have screenshots as well on old harddrives.

Other girls in the comments of the FB post say they have similar experiences and stories but none that I saw go into further detail.
