I've never played a SSB game, but I know they do have a big fanbase and they will definitely make a new one for the switch

 

Every home console N64 onwards has had a smash bros, I'd be very surprised if the Switch never got one.

 

It also sells like crazy and is in some ways their biggest esports title, so yeah

On the new episode of Video Games Hot Dog (which has a silly name but is a very grounded podcast hosted by developers) they talk about this game called Doki Doki Literature Club, which came out on Steam for free this September. On the surface it is a dating sim but in reality it's the Frog Fractions of dating sims. I don't know if I'll get to it but it sounds wild.

 

I've never understood quite what Frog Fractions is exactly

In this case it's shorthand for being something that is different from what it appears to be, something very meta and weird hidden behind a layer of normalcy (in this case a dating sim, in Frog Fractions' case an edutainment game)

 

it's the videogame equivalent of trying to get into an indie record just to fuel your superiority complex

Lmao well the difference is the video game actually does the weird stuff and you interact with it, when its an indie rock album its all in your head

 

well the stuff on the album also happens, but I think people were trying a little too hard to like it.

it's still cute doe and the hype of what Frog Fraction 2 is/was/will be was a lot of fun. no harm, no foul.

but like it's ok not to get it.

 

Tbf I've never tried to understand it really I've just heard podcast people talk about it and it made me more confused just thought maybe I was missing something

 

well, it starts out as a game about a frog eating insects and they get added up in fractions.

Frog Fractions

Going in to this a few years ago knowing nothing besides everyone saying "just play it" was quite the experience.

 

I might play it, though I'll have to do it when my girlfriend and mom aren't around because I don't have patience to explain this shit lmao Tokyo Mirage Sessions was enough

It is quite the experience. What’s funny is you can spend quite a long time playing it, and then it turns out you haven’t even played it

Been listening to DLC lately, really love Jeff and Christian. I find them both quite easy to relate to.
