I feel like I should've known this lol I sometimes forget that people in one thread are also in different threads. Anyway... carry on.

 

It's gonna break my heart to see bottom feeder get knocked out in the first round haha.

 

I think that musically Son of a Gun is one their blandest songs, but it's totally rescued by the lyrics which are a perfect blend of typical MCS style self analysis and yet at the same time, are pretty sweet at parts.

 

I was listening to it today and I actually realize my only problem with it is the beginning and the actual chorus. I really like the "you're over dramatic, I'm aerodynamic" part.

 

I love the intro and the chorus of Son of a Gun.

Man, voting on this album just reminds me of how disappointed I was when this album was released. It’s just so underwhelming. I am rooting for Happy Anniversary to take the win though.

FDTR should actually win IMO. Man those lyrics are so real and incredible to listen to knowing what he’s been through. Probably my favorite song from this era

 

I was just thinking the opposite. I love this album and I don't go back to it nearly enough. These re-listens have solidified my opinion that I like it more than EIIKM.

 

Hmm, I've got my votes for the last 3 matchups, but I have to give "True Romance" and "Boxelder" each a listen or two to decide between them.

I honestly think Floating Down The River is one of this bands most criminally under rated songs. Fantastic lyrics and melody and a song that makes me so happy for Justin's happiness these days.

I only wish I were younger, so I would have more time to explore.

 

So true, I love the lyrics to this song. I really think Justin has some of his strongest stuff, lyrically, on this album. It really saves some of the tracks that aren't so great musically haha.
