I'm sorry! I don't mean to judge. I guess it's just not for me. I don't see the want to have the phone covered like that because it just adds an extra step when going to unlock it

 

I just used the flashlight from control center to walk upstairs and when I went to turn it off I noticed a small flashlight icon in the bottom left corner. I tapped it, but nothing happened. Then I pushed it harder to activate 3D Touch and Bam! it felt like I turned off an actual flashlight and the light went out.

That’s such a weird, tiny detail. But it felt like magic, ha.

 

I was already taking my previous phones out of a wallet slipcase for the past several iPhone generations. I may hate this case when I put it to practical use, but I don’t know. This is the first time that I’m not going naked with my iPhone.

Do any of you use TrueTone? I feel like it looked too yellow so I disabled it.

 

I use TrueTone and I love it. It definitely makes the screen warm, and maybe warmer than it should at times, but it's easier on the eyes. It also automatically switches off when looking at photos or video I believe.

 

It just makes me feel like I'm using Night Shift all day long.

 

Shattered my screen on the 6s so i'll be picking up the 8s plus later.

 

This photo has sold me more on the X than anything Apple has shown. Love me some kitty cats, especially calicos

 

What case is everyone using for the X?

 

Yeah I don't get them either. I like as minimal a case as possible. The peel case I had for the 7+ was good. Tozo slim cases look like a nice cheap alternative too. I'm probably just going to go Apple Leather this time though.

 

I mean I'm a huge fan of Portrait Mode, but this is (no offense Jason!!!) a shot that highlights the particular problems this implementation still has quite clearly. It can do a lot better when edges a "sharp", see I took this with a 7 plus:



Now compare this with the shot of our 2 dogs, (or see Jason's cat picture). It really struggles with fuzz.

I just ordered the saddle brown leather case for the X yesterday. Should be here tomorrow.

 

I accidentally got my case sent to my parents house two hours away and didn't notice until the day before so on a whim I got an Incipio case from Walmart and it's actually pretty good. A little more slippery than I'd like but it's still so much better than how slippery the 6 was for my three years of having that so I'm happy!

Same! I'm trying to keep it on but I keep thinking about it. It's too warm for my eyes but I'll give it another week to see if I adjust. I want to like it but I'm not sure if I can. Even dark mode on this site looks yellow to me.

I know we already established that it didn’t work but this cracks me up.

 

I actually use Night Shift in the evenings with TrueTone as well, ha. I’ve toned down the night shift to only be slightly warmer though.

 

TrueTone is incredible. NightShift looks like pee.

Pretty much, but Airpods fall from my ears much less because there's no cable that pulls it down.

No, Night Shift is old tech. Go to settings and do a search for "night shift".

Turn on scheduling and you can set a time.
