I knew if I were patient, and behaved myself, i'd eventually get to listen to Dude Ranch. The blink gods are generous.

Anyone got scans for the Kerrang interview?

Cheshire Cat's songs are much better than their production lets them be.

Looks like Bored to Death is gonna be Blink's biggest single in like 13 years. Pretty crazy.

    Hell yeah!

I fully expect Rabbit Hole, Cynical, Teenage Satellites and a few others to be bangers, exactly what we wanted. Can't wait to hear them.

You guys should rank each song on a scale of 1-10 and then average them to get a ranking for each album.

It might sound nerdy, but it's fun and passes the time at work. I keep a running sticky note for albums and then average them together. Pretty cool to see where each album stands on that type of scale. There's other factors of sentimental value that you can add if you like one album more than the other but it's ranked lower.

I haven't done this for blink, but I've done it with other bands that have an amazing discography just to try and see where I rank them.

I would love a modern production of Cheshire. There's a lot underrated on there.

    Things have changed.

To be fair, they've had a total of three real singles since then.

Yeah its not saying much. What is interesting is that it looks like even with all the hype of the reunion, Up All Night won't be the more successful than btd

Yeah cause they killed all their momentum that time. Crazy that they'll get an album out faster having to add a totally new member than they did reuniting with Tom.

  18. BUDDHA

    1. Carousel - Out of the two different studio versions of this song, the Buddha is my favorite. I just wish it was recorded as well (for lack of a better word) as the Cheshire Cat version.
    2. TV - Tom had some cool guitar work on this song, but this song is just pretty forgettable.
    3. Strings - Mark's flat vocals are so bad on this song, but as a whole, I love this one.
    4. Fentoozler - 4 songs in and Tom's only had lead vocals on 1 of them. This song is ok. I could live with or without it.
    5. Time - I like the ska riff. I think this is the only song in their discography that touches on ska influences at all. So that's kinda cool. I like this song a lot.
    6. Romeo & Rebecca - This a fun one. Tom had some really cool riffs on this song and actually most of the early Blink stuff.
    7. 21 Days - In my opinion, this is Blink-182's most underrated song. I can't believe they didn't re-record it for Cheshire or Dude Ranch. I really can't say enough good things about this song. I wish they'd play it live with Travis. The ending alone would make for a really memorable moment in their set, I think. This song shows a lot of maturity in their songwriting that will show up much later into their discography.
    8. Sometimes - This is one of the fastest Blink songs. I've always enjoyed it. It's very Descendents-ish.
    9. Point of View - This wasn't ever one of my favorite tracks from Buddha. It's another one I could live with or without. It's just kinda there.
    10. My Pet Sally - It's so weird hearing these early Tom riffs. Comparing them to what he plays now, the difference is night and day. He had some really creative riffs back in the day. This song has a lot of cool guitar work on it.
    11. Reebok Commercial - This is another one I've never really gotten into, but today, I like it a lot. It's fun. And again, Tom's guitar playing is rad.
    12. Toast & Bananas - This has always been one of my favorite Buddha tracks. I like how the intro is just Tom for a minute or so. I've just always really liked this one.
    13. The Girl Next Door - This is a Screeching Weasel and it's not much different than the original. It's fine.
    14. Don't - I've grown to like this song a lot. I think it's a fantastic Mark song, all around.

    Highlights:
    - Tom's guitar playing
    - "21 Days"

    Lowlights:
    - Mark's flat vocals
    - The drums never really stand out

    Favorite songs:
    21 Days
    Carousel
    Time
    Don't

    Least favorite songs:

    TV
    Fentoozler
    Point of View
    The Girl Next Door

You have to really try remembering these songs are more or less just demos. If a lot of these were recorded in 1997-99, they'd be fan favorites, no doubt. It's also interesting to note that Mark sings on the majority of these. Just 8 out of 14, but still.

it's bananas to think that they announced the reunion and upcoming new music in February 2009 and we got that new album nearly in October 2011

Hey, has anyone noticed the pitch correction flutter on "Bored to Death" at :11? Very first line when Mark sings "out" in "out the meaning". Check it out.
