Right, cuz no other musicians in any other genre of music have ever been up to some skeezy shit.

Hating a band is one thing. Hating a band for harboring/defending abusers/general creepiness is one thing.

Casting guilt by association is a shitty thing to do.

 

Never have said other musicians in other scenes haven't. But as it's been shown time and time again, this is the scene where it's been a hugely predominant factor.

 

So that gives you the right to throw bands who've never been been accused of it under the bus?

Jake Luhrs non-profit organization that has partnered with numerous bands in the scene (including ABR, Silent Planet, The Color Morale, Dayseeker, TDWP, etc.) to help those in situations of poor mental health, abuse (physical, sexual, emotional etc.), and many other forms of distress:

Also Silent Planet has been donating 5 dollars from every purchase of their Heal Us shirt to RAINN, The True Colors Fund, or HIAS (choice of the buyer). Currently though it looks as though all funds have been going towards the Houston Relief Fund, the shirt is also currently sold out.

The point is that not all bands harbor abusive people. Actually there's a good number of them that include people who give a shit and want to do something about the problem and have done things to help. On Warped Tour this year Silent Planet even had 5 dollars of every Heal Us shirt go towards numerous non profits on the tour each date (including the Safer Scenes non profit). I'm not going to say we have a perfect scene by any means, but to assume that all bands are abusive is a shitty assumption. Especially to those who are doing something to help.

 

I never threw another band under the bus? It was commentary on the people that tend to post in this thread that enjoy bad bands and also defend abusers

 

no, your post was in response to a post asking "who would go to see this band," insinuating people who enjoy that band are abusive. that is very unnecessary for a band that's never really shown any problematic behavior as far as i know

Didn't mean for it to come across that way, I meant it the way I explained, but I definitely can see how it comes off like that and I should've thought that through more. Sorry @GEM37 and everyone.

That ISMFOF tour sounds okay. I'm Facebook friends with one of the members, Nate, and he seems like a pretty good person. Kissing Candice is a pretty bad opener, though.

 

Kissing Candice must be bad if ISMFOF is OK in comparison

I’m actually really excited for the ISMFOF tour. They’re super fun live and not really meant to be taken seriously

Little tidbit of advice for you since you've made it abundantly clear that you don't like this thread: no one is forcing you to come to this part of the site. You could literally go your whole time on this site without seeing anything here or commenting on anything here. Just seems weird to come onto somewhere and then comment 4 separate times about how much you hate it. Idk, just my two cents.
