I remember when I started this conversation last year. Never personally had problems with ETR, but those are some awful stories.

Yeah I refuse to support ETR. I think I only own one record from them and that’s North. Bought it before I knew about any of that.

Now that I typed all that out, I can’t believe I’ve spent that much money on vinyl recently.

 

There was a liquid filled record on sale yesterday that for a split second I considered getting. Then I realized how dumb that is and changed my mind ha. They look cool but too much $$

ETR is a joke, always has been and always will be. It’s unfortunate the Fall of Troy pressings have gone through them. Though, it’s the few releases they didn’t fuck up.

I posted on Instagram an anti ETR note to a vinyl update picture, homeboy commented and asked why I felt that way and we went back and forth a few times. He ended up offering me a Kevin Devine Live at ‘Lonney’ Tunes test pressing for free to make up for their shitty quality. I just ignored him. Again, dude is a joke.

 

Anyone want to trade copies of Science Fiction? I have an extra red/blue (that I forgot I ordered from my local shop - haha) and would love a clear Urban Outfitters or white Australian copy. Forgive me - I'm not sure of the rarity of either but just wanted to give this vinyl a good home and thought a trade was worth more than a flip. PM me!

I had to slow my roll on pre-ordering haha. But I am holding out until BF RSD shopping and hoping to grab a few of those titles.

Love the rainbow reflection off the cover. I'm waiting for my indie indigo copy to arrive. Think I'm going to hold off listening until then. Have you had a chance to spin it yet?

 

Not yet. Just opened it during my lunch break. Will spin it after work. I've already listened to the leak two times. But my roommate has a killer system, and I want to crank this.

Have yet to read anything about it anywhere probably because most people just forgot about it, but No Sleep Records has yet to fulfill a portion of their 2014 Vinyl Subscription series to its subscribers. In addition to all the releases on vinyl, downloads, and 10% off code, they promised "Special Subscriber & Friends ONLY 7” Series featuring Sean Nelson of Harvey Danger, John Nolan of Taking Back Sunday, Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids, and Geoff Rickly of Thursday (includes a box to hold all of the 7“‘s)" Lo and behold they never shipped a single one of those 7"s which likely got a ton of people to subscribe. Last communication sent about it from them was an email from August 2015 saying they were still waiting on audio from one of them but they were still coming. Since then, they have not responded to emails or addressed the matter. They seem to have no problem selling off the test pressings though and making more money off of them

Anyone heard anything about this? Have more information/links?

 

I feel like I have read about this, maybe a couple years ago. I would search around the vinylcollective board or Reddit. Didn't Evan Weiss put part of his No Sleep contract crumpled up/destroyed on a shirt? What a mess and I feel bad for anyone who got ripped off. Reminds me of Mightier than Sword.

 

It’s a bunk label now, Chris owes a bunch of people (Wonder Years, Evan Weiss, Moose Blood) money. He owes/owed Evan a ton of money, but eventually just settled by giving him the masters to 52 Weeks. Bought himself a Range Rover though.

 

This No Sleep thing is so interesting to me because they seem to keep pumping stuff out, but I’ve never heard about any of this sleazy stuff. It’s crazy what labels can get away with.
