On all forthcoming dates, he is billed as Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather, no longer & The Crowes. All announced dates:

 

The Howling Weather would be a sweet album title.

 

But wouldn't it be a little weird if his album name was also the name of the backing band? I don't think I've ever seen that before, but I agree that I like the name.

 

I also think Howling Weather would be a good album title.

John K. Samson's full band tours since Winter Wheat have been under the name John K. Samson and the Winter Wheat.

 

I'd also be fine if he just called the album Brian Fallon and The Howling Weather. I mean, it's a little "Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness"-y, but I like that name too.

 

Did you know that The Weakerthans were Greg Gaffin's backing band on his solo stuff? Not relevant just neat.

 

I knew they were on Cold As the Clay. Do they play on Millport as well?

Yeah that’s a good point, I do like that idea. Really, the title doesn’t matter that much, as long as the songs are good I’m happy.

I haven’t heard his voice do that in some time. Ohhhhhhhhhh man I am so so so ready to hear new music.

 

I feel like "Forget Me Not" could also be the title of the record. Don't know why, just a thought, probably wrong.

 

Also what makes me happy is when he said “New song out before the holidays” he meant Halloween. He loves to get SpOoOoKy.

 

Sounds like ROCK! Very different than the last solo album.

 

I’m curious what this record will end up sounding like because I thought last year he was more interested in going further down the folk/rock/singer songwriter stuff. Him going more rock would be a switch. Granted, it’s a ten second clip of one song so it’s way early.

 

Posted this a while back but in terms of what the album will sound like, he gets into it around 11:25 in this interview:

"Painkillers was more of like, an Americana record. This one is not like that at all. It's more uptempo and I'm getting into... I sort of flirted with soul music and what I call R&B...I flirted with it a lot especially in the early Gaslight days with like 'Senor and the Queen' and even on 59 Sound. There was a little flirtation with soul music and now I'm like, let me see if I can just do it...I'm looking over to the 60s British artists who did that, like the Animals..."
