Tom will be too busy with his full time Area 51 job in the future to ever rejoin Blink.

You guys are probably "bored to death" of hearing this, but I still really like the new song.

Horrible pun. Your post got me so down.

Alright that was worse, but I couldn't help it. When it comes to puns, Blink song titles are...

I think ET puts exclusive at the beginning of each of their segments. Somewhere A.C. Slater is smiling.

Stream Wendy Talks With Mark Hoppus of Blink182 Free | Radio 104.5:
-Mark's favorite track changes with his mood
-There are "ballads" on the album (implying that there's more than just Home Is Such A Lonely Place)
-Wrote 30 different songs before California, planned to record 1-2 more with Feldmann
-Abandoned the original 30 after doing the first two with Feldy, proceeded to record 26 more with Feldy
-Some of the old songs are fully done, some are just pieces
-Unreleased songs from the California sessions could be on the next EP / album, Mark isn't sure
-Mark isn't tired of playing any songs live
-Album revolves around the bright side and the dark side of California as a state

That's my game plan too...I was thinking about doing Vegas as well, I've seen every show they've played in Vegas, but I think I'll have to skip it this time.

You know the photographer (alliesaurousrex on Instagram) that seemed to be hanging out almost everyday with the guys in the studio? It would be cool if her photos were to be part of the album's booklet or something. I feel they have to use her something, why else would they let a photographer in to the studio? It is a very sacred and secret place during the recording process for a band.

More than anything though, i would want a documentary or video of some sort about the recording of the album, kinda like the small videos we got for the self-titled. But they haven't mentioned anything about something like that, so i don't have my hopes up.

Check livenation though for your date because there are two more pre-sales before tickets go on sale on the 5th or 6th. There is a CITI card pre-order next, then a livenation app pre-sale, and then tickets go on sale for most dates. Just a heads up!

I was refreshing myself on blink's history, and I had no idea that The Rock Show and First Date were written after the label demanded a more radio-friendly single. Apparently Hoppus wrote Rock Show in 10 minutes while in full blown "fuck you" mode? I can't believe I never knew this. It makes me wonder what TOYPAJ would have been with the original 12 tracks they presented to the label. I'm guessing we've heard the 12 tracks they originally recorded for it between what made the final cut and the bonus tracks, but I guess it's possible something's floating around out there that's unreleased.

So, I ran into an AMA that Mark did on the blink subreddit four years ago or so. It answered my question about unreleased music, among other things. Maybe you haven't seen it, or maybe it's worth revisiting. Either way, I'll post a few things I found interesting...

hi, my name is mark. blink-182. hoppus on music. stupid hair. ama. • www.reddit.com

How many unreleased songs does blink 182 have? And do you ever plan on releasing said songs?

none that i can think of. we mostly release all of the songs we finish recording, and abandon songs that aren't working along the way. there are a lot of ideas and half-demos that we may go back to. there was a song on neighborhoods called "not for real" that i was working on, that i beat to death. i would like to revisit it for the next record.

Coming from one of the guys who made pop-punk what it is today, what's you're opinion on the genre nowadays?
i feel like it needs a kick in the ass. something fresh and brave to shake it up. the whole thing feels safe and stale and formulaic. but that's just me.

Anyway, there are a few other good questions in there. Enjoy.

    Things have changed.

She's in the studio with Feldmann almost all the time.
