True, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if he did this album cycle and then the band/everyone re-evaluates what they want in their lives, or he wants to do Trio full time all the time. Who knows...

 

I guess anything is possible. Skiba has always been the type of guy who likes to stay active as a musician though, so I just don't know if he would ever walk from this situation given how positive everything looks.

 

I feel like the major difference between skiba and Tom is that Matt can actually balance projects and dedicate himself to them. Tom...well we all know how that story ends.

 

I don't think Mark and Travis would kick him out because they clearly like each other and like making music together. But I could see a situation where Matt steps down after Tom refuses to work as a four piece and the band is staring legal imposed downtime in the face.

I mean, are we? It's pretty apparent Tom is not officially out and more on sabbatical at this point. It's legitimate to question how long this lineup of Blink will last.

Considering Matt and Tom are friends I would imagine Matt would step down if Tom were to want to return just out of respect.

 

In what world does Tom even want to come back. He's not going to be like the axel rose of blink 182 lol. Dude is out for good.

I highly doubt we will never see Tom do anything Blink again. Another record with Tom is probably unlikely but I'd be pretty surprised if he never plays a show with them again

 

I don't think he'd return for long without an album. Its clear Mark and Travis (and probably Matt) want to continue making blink music. So I can't imagine why they would have Tom back to recreate the scenario we've had the past few years. Unless it was like an anniversary show or something and it was clearly temporary, then I could see it.

 

So has anyone here done ticket transfers before? Someone paid for my ticket and VIP package for me as a gift and then transferred the tickets to me which I accepted and printed. My question is that the VIP package transfers of the ticket did right? It says the ticket type is the everything's gonna be fine package

It's not like there wouldn't be room for Matt and Tom on the stage at the same time; most bands have two guitarists anyway, and it would be a treat for fans to never really know who's going to sing what parts.

 

Yeah, that's why I like this possibility.

I was at that show too, in the pit. Super rainy and gloomy day, then the band came on and they're literally crying on stage. Short set without Travis's solo. Sad show.

 

Green Day and plenty of other bands have added a 2nd guitarist, official or not, it would make a lot of sense if Tom came back into the fold at some point.

 

If I had to guess I think Tom wants to come back more than Mark wants him to come back.


Also, just to clarify, everyone saying they got tickets already just did the preorder stuff, right? I'm not in danger if I was planning on just waiting for May 6?

 

I could see them doing a small tour or anniversary shows, but as far as new music goes, the Mark, Tom and Travis lineup is a lost cause, in my eyes.

The guy is useless. Doesn't want to collaborate, doesn't want a producer, writes the same thing over and over, implies the other guys and their new music isn't "forward thinking" even though fans absolutely love it, willing to stall the band indefinitely for his other projects... This would be fine if he were a decent musician to make up for it, but he can't even begin to sing or play guitar live anymore. He's actually the last person you would want to be in a band with.

 

I want Tom back in the band at some point, and I think he will be. Not sure how many years from now, but some day. I'm extremely happy for Matt Skiba, he's been one of my favorite songwriters for a long time and I think this opportunity is awesome for him.

 

I feel like it's a forgone conclusion tom will play with them at some point. I think it's a toss up whether or not they record but I'm almost positive they will do a reunion tour with Tom some years down the line.
