What Separates Me From You is ADTR's best album imo cause they mostly moved away from the corny metalcore

 

I wouldn’t categorize yachty as mumble rap. That was a 2015 trend, he’s on a new wave imo

 

"mumble rap" as a genre qualifier is wholly stupid and used almost exclusively by people who are trying to discredit contemporary hip-hop

 

I agree except for when it’s used in reference to fetty lol

 

i don't think it's always an inaccurate descriptor and it shouldn't be an insult, but it really is more of a microgenre or vocal delivery rather than a genre in and of itself

 

I'll listen to Yachty songs because I think they're stupid and hilarious. It's crazy to hear people actually enjoying his stuff.

 

I mean, Through the Wire is quite literally mumble rap

 

Bring it Back and Forever Young are pretty perfect pop songs, don't know what's crazy about it

 

Minnesota is fun af I don’t get not liking Yachty, he’s a breath of fresh air

 

yachty is a bad rapper but an amazing pop artist

 

I can't fully get into his music, but I love his art style and visual choices 100% of the time

 

Definitely agree, with the caveat that Homesick was damn good as well. Before that, eh, I don't really care. For Those Who Have Heart would sound better if they re-recorded it today and And Their Name Was Treason is a record I completely forget exists a lot of the time.

Also, another good one - Ice Nine Kills is top-ten material for me on the basis of Every Trick In The Book alone. I've probably spun songs from that album over a hundred goddamn times in the past year.

 

It is an unending source of sadness to me that people outside this area ever took to Ice Nine Kills.

 

I thought that said "never" at first and had to google them because I thought they were a shitty metalcore band but they are a shitty metalcore band

I can’t speak for the band as a whole cause I haven’t listened to their discography, but the famous Journey songs that people always sing are fucking trash. It actually upsets me when I hear their music.

 

Whenever I see Ice Nine Kills I always read it as Nine Inch Nails. Did they do that on purpose?

Also, never listened to Ice Nine Kills, probably because of how dumb their name is.

 

ska is fun as hell and you never see anyone look sad while listening to ska

 

I love Journey but I grew up with my dad playing them around the house a lot. It does kinda remind me of cleaning tho cause he'd put on their dvd whenever we had to deep clean so I know their videos well lol
