Maroon 5 Band

Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. It currently consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, bassist Mickey Madden, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn and keyboardist PJ Morton.

 

Literally made this thread just to complain about how far they've fallen. Even collaborating with SZA who is great couldn't lead to them making an interesting song. I hate being one of those "I miss this band's old stuff" people but in this case it's 1000% justified, I know they were never THAT special but Songs About Jane is one of the albums that first made me passionate about music, and seeing these guys shamelessly (and poorly) trend hop for years is so sad.

Songs About Jane is a classic. Their newer stuff is enjoyable enough, just nowhere near what they used to be.

 

Me: There is no possible way that the new album could be worse than the last one.

I might swap Soon Before Long and Hands All Over depending on the day, but other than that, not much to argue with here.

 

They've become an Adam Levine solo project. Granted I haven't listened to one of their albums in 10+ years but the singles sound like the band is nonexistent.

 

Imagine if this album was full of songs that sounded like the Adam Levine track from Sing Street.

Each member addition is accompanied by a further simplification of the music. By the next album they'll be an eight-piece, and the entire album will consist of Adam singing over GarageBand synth beats.

 

Also not to keep ragging on them, but dear GOD that album cover...

 

There is no band making music right now that has fallen farther than this band.

 

I wouldn't say leak specifically, but it's out there because other countries have already hit midnight

 

These guys are probably the only band/artist I used to love that makes me THIS passionate about disliking their new stuff, so that probably speaks for something haha

 

Out of morbid curiosity I listened... it may actually be their worst song to date.
