I certainly do. Don't understand why we would have to just pick one or the other, but there's a reason DGD is doing so well right now with the lineup they have and their most recent stuff so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I said higher tier, not top tier. Top tier is definitely Happiness. Mothership is like their third best record.

Lol, sorry not sorry to keep cluttering the feed with this, but I just checked HGB's Facebook page and the official post for the tour does say that they'd be playing the albums 'in their majorities!' So it technically was not misrepresented by the band themselves, moreso by the articles that covered it (Chorus included.) Still, glad I got the heads up checking the setlist instead of just showing up, haha!

Ohhhh. Well the second part isn't true, anyway. Really weird they didn't play "Shimmy Shimmy," that's gotta be a huge crowd pleaser. I think my show is the last of the tour, maybe they'll go big?!

Yeah, my feeling is that this is similar to the DGD shows that just got announced - something of a dry run for a longer tour. Assuming these shows are selling well (and I'm fairly certain they are), I could totally see them announcing at least an east coast version of the same thing for early next year.

Also, my guess is they're really not that enamored with the first EP at this point. Not that they've been playing much at all the last few years, but from what setlists I've seen, they've pretty much avoided those songs entirely. I'll always love it, and I would give just about anything to see "Call N Return" live, but I've quietly accepted that I will probably never see that happen.

Haha, what can I say? I really don't take the '+ More!' stuff on these announcements that seriously anymore. In my experience, it usually means just one or two extra songs, time permitting. Which, considering it would have been a 22-song set if it was both albums in full, is not a lot of extra time.

My guess is they probably don't want to play goofy songs they wrote in high school anymore - which I both respect, and am bummed by, as those songs did (and do) mean a lot to me.

And really, in the end you're going to forget you were even angry about this because you're gonna have such a good time at this show. Trust me.

Would It Kill You is the only thing by them I care about so they really need to bring this to Chicago.

Unless they’re counting “Touchdown Turnaround” as the older stuff because that song is older than EP (although not officially released until Zombies!) and they used to play it live wayyyy before Zombies!. Hmmmmm.

I'd go anywhere in the Midwest to see this tour. I miss that band a lot.

it's not as good as would it kill you but just don't let go just don't is a top 3 song in the whole discography of the band, the title track is great, swear you're in love isn't as good as the daytrotter version but it's still quite good. it's definitely an album that cuts between their earlier stuff and WIKY

The first 4 songs on Everything Is Debatable are great, but other than that it's pretty meh, especially after releasing a near perfect album.

Everything Is Debatable just doesn't do it for me. I had such high hopes. I am impatiently waiting for a new album but I don't know that we'll get one.

see i completely cannot stand their earlier stuff, seeing them live (one of the best shows i've been to, HG/YMAEWK/gold motel/now now) made it even more obvious how much worse the earlier stuff was, and forrest didn't even seem thrilled to be playing it

Same on waiting on that new album. I do understand that EID isn't on the same level as WIKY, but I found it to be a really cool, mature release for them with a lot of great pop moments.

Obviously you really have to ignore a lot of the lyrics to the early stuff to completely get behind it in 2017, but man they wrote some of the hugest pop choruses out there and really perfected that style of music. Maybe it's just a nostalgia thing for me though.

it's not even the lyrics, the musicality of it is what kills it for me

Almost certain they're support for the Neck Deep tour then. The Tour Rumors twitter account said that the other two openers haven't been announced because they are both on other fall tours.

Someone in the ND tour thread said that the other two openers are someone from Hopeless and someone that was on Warped this past summer, not too sure how credible that info is though. Would love for Grayscale to open for that tour.
