No love for Kaleidoscope? That chorus is one of my favourite things in their entire discography. How do you not love that vocal melody?

You and me both man...Loved the opening riff and when I heard that harmony I was like "holy shit it's still magic." Other favorites were Wishing Well, Kaleidoscope, and MH. But a lot of it didn't hold up for super long for me...not sure why because I don't hate listening to it, I just don't crave it.

I'm still a staunch Neighborhoods defender

Only songs I don't like are Love is Dangerous and Fighting the Gravity, but I'm pretty sure there's at least one song on every Blink album I don't like that much

The second half of the CD is ok...just don't like it as much as the first half...even thinking back..."Wishing Well" is like 50/50 split if I count it toward the first half or second half

I agree overall that the second half is the weaker half, but that one song still absolutely kills for me.

I'm thinking about a VIP pack as well - every blink show I've been too I've gotten a pit ticket and there's always room in the back to get a breather if it's too hectic up close...it can definitely suck and be cramped. But the VIP packs you get to pick what kind of ticket you want with it, I was messing around with an earlier date the other day.

my favorite blink song. and Neighborhoods is easily my favorite blink album, even if i realize it's not a very good album at all.

i'll admit that my story with blink is easily one of the most unusual/backwards out there. i was too young at their peak and only really got to know them when they had already broken up. even then, i only pushed myself to listen to a full album (TOYPAJ) in 2009, when they were reuniting. i didn't really like it that much, so i didn't go after the rest of their stuff until much later.

in 2014 (!) i heard GOTDF by chance, loved it, but actually went after AVA's discography instead of blink's because of people saying it "sounded like AVA, not blink". and i'll forever be grateful to Tom for what he did with that band. WDNTW and I-Empire are easily among my favorite records of all time and helped me get through that year. i was a sucker for his delayed guitar and his positive outlook on life - sure the lyrics were bad from an objective standpoint, but i couldn't care less when they were so uplifting. i still think "Heaven" is epic as hell and capable of lifting anyone's spirits, as long as they're not picky about the lyrics.

to this day, i'd still pick AVA's first four albums over Blink's six albums. yeah, even if there's Love pt 2 on one side and Untitled on the other side. seeing Tom completely ruin AVA by dismissing David, Atom and Matt was one of the most heartbreaking experiences i went through in music. i'll never wish him bad, but he turned one of my favorite things from the last few years into the punchline of several well-deserved jokes. i can revisit the stuff i liked, but i haven't found any enjoyment in anything after TDW.

storytelling over. i like "Bored to Death" just fine - six listens in two days isn't too bad for me. bring on the new era, and hopefully we'll get our long-deserved blink shows this time.

I don't know if anyones mentioned it yet but it appears the purple vinyl is sold out now and replaced with white vinyl.

I always took the "I'll never let you down" line in Ghost to be a sort of apology from Tom to the fans, but maybe I was reading to much into it. Regardless, he did let us down again, haha.

I've always liked Neighborhoods in a strange way: it never comes immediately to mind, even when I think of their discography, but when I actually do listen to it, I enjoy it quite a bit. There aren't any truly spectacular songs on there, but definitely some real gems and some killer hooks. Couple duds, but overall, it has a lot of charm that's been erased due to the production's somewhat tumultuous and awkward background.

I didn't get a pre-order code either but I didn't cave until yesterday afternoon. Here's to hoping it's around by sunday, because otherwise there's no fucking way I'm snagging both a VIP package and a GA for my friend with all the presales for my date.

i'm listening to neighborhoods right now and I really fucking hate it. I'm so mad that this Frankenstein version of Blink-182 exists. even though I'm really excited for the new album with Skiba, I wish they never got back together in 09 and just kept doing their other projects.

I've had a few more spins of BTD now so more thoughts.

It's pretty solid but not blowing me away. Mind you I can't remember when a first single by blink did. Love the vibe and verses. The chorus seems a bit cookie cutter to me.

I don't get all the people on the Internet hating on blink with Skiba though. This is solid enough and a worthy addition to the bands catalogue. I say this as a huge Tom fan. His recent stuff and behaviour has definitely soured my adoration for him a bit but he's always been a huge influence on me as a guitar player. Not many bands could replace a member like Tom in a fairly seamless way. Skiba fits really well I think. So I say fair play guys. Keep on going.

Off topic, but seen some stuff on Neighbourhoods. I actually really liked that album. I didn't until I saw it live but I think it definitely grows on you with each listen.

On the Feldman comments. I have to say I wholely agree with Jason on it. Back in the 70's everyone co wrote with people and producers had a far bigger part in the creation of music than they seem to these days. Everyone from Aerosmith to probably even Bruce Springsteen to some extent would've had people maybe not wholly co-writing but at least giving and opinion to such an extent that songs were changed.

I don't really agree with bands (like 5SoS) that will almost entirely have someone else write their music and claim it. But if someone is co-writing, all that should matter, to me at least, is that the end product is better for it. I'd rather a band co write and produce something good than refuse to on principle and produce something rubbish. The jury's still out on whether it's the former or latter with this new blink album.

TB: We’re playing our single, “Bored to Death,” but then there are fan favorites that kids will hear without hearing the recorded version and instantly love. There’s a song called “Rabbit Hole” that I think will do really awesome. We play this amazing track called “Brohemian Rhapsody” that’s kind of a cool, 15-second ass-kicker that’s kind of fun. I’m anxious to play new stuff and make the set musical and bring songs to the set a little bit differently than we have in the past.

I just got home from a work trip overseas and was finally able to listen to the new song... and I don't like it, haha. Regardless, i'm definitely going to see them when they tour, this Summer - still plenty optimistic about the new album.
