Yea I agree. If they were really pressured that much from their label at the time though, can we really blame them? We don't know how much their hands were tied.

 

It isn't so much the financial impact, but the chart placement and so on. Numbers never hurt.

I've had a girlfriend for 2 years. I work two jobs right now; one is part time at a grocery store, and I worked fulled time at a place for 7 years (yesterday was my last day there because the company decided to outsource to india so they laid us all off...) but this week I started working up in Salt Lake City at a great company, and I'm about to move in with my girlfriend up here. And in my free time, I mostly just hang out with my friends or play music in different capacities as often as I can.

My life hasn't really changed in the last 10 years. And it doesn't help that I look exactly the same as I did in high school. All 3 of my younger brothers look older (and are taller) than me, haha.

I think 4/5 of the songs on DED are better than BTD.

Ya know, I actually liked DED, namely Boxing Day, when I was young, and the title track. But I am sorry to say I do not agree with you. BTD is much better

 

You can't see how selling 20 or so million records, being on tv constantly, playing arenas and being on the cover of every magazine wouldn't directly effect the output of a band in such little time? Analyze and question all you want, but I think that people rarely, if ever try and put themselves mentally and honestly into the shoes that these guys were in to deliver or even follow up something they had done.

 

Even if you like the songs themselves on DED better than Bored to Death, you have to at least admit that the production on DED is piss poor compared to Bored to Death.

 

Also stoked for much, much better production. It's been awhile since we heard good production on a blink song.

 

13 years...

 

Boxing Day is the only one I like less.
