That's how I feel.

I've been in the league for a while now and my team has been pretty solid this year. If I'm up multiple scores on somebody late in the fourth, I chew the clock, run it out, and if I break something, my guy goes down. No reason to run it up on anybody.

 

I was maybe going to sleep soon, but I can wait 20-30 from now.

4th quarter just started so give me 5 min or so and I'll be on. I'll pull it up on my computer and watch and play.

What was the pass? From what he said it was a 5 yard out route and he only broke it because your guy fucked up and missed the tackle. If true, the intention doesn't seem to be padding stats to me, but to pick up the first down to end the game. The only reason he got the TD is because your defender fucked up by missing the tackle. If it was PA Da Bomb (Old NFL Blitz classic) then I'd feel differently.

I just figured I'd tell it how I saw it considering I am the only other member that actually saw it.

Your defender "fucked up" is not an excuse either. My trash ass defense gave up 42 points before that. He did not need to score, but he did. It was up running the score, no matter how you want to paint the picture.

We're going to have different opinions on this one. The game's over and done with. Done talking about it.

how being up 42-13 and scoring a touchdown in the 4th quarter isn't being considered running up the score is crazy to me

I think a good arguing point would've been

"players in the NFL wouldn't run out of bounds"

but i mean, then it'd be arguing the rule, which isn't really being put into place anyways

You really expect someone to give up a TD? Your defender fucking up is a damn good excuse because it's not like he was trying to score, but because of that he had an open TD. I never expect someone to run out of bounds if they have a TD.

Your point would then be for any score when you are up big in the 4th you should just fall down and not score? If you are airing it out, and I get a pick, I wouldn't expect someone not to score if they could, or if they are running it and bust a long run to just give up. By your post, any score up 42-13 should be seen as running it up and I don't believe that should be the standard at all. As you said, they wouldn't give it up IRL.
