I'll be with you the whole way.

Late to the party, but the message from Tom is really cool. I'm glad he wrote that.

  3. yeah, man. it's like when you break up and get back together with a girl over and over and over, and your friends are like, "dude, just stop..."

Off topic, but who was the guy that did Tom impressions really well? I can't even describe him better than that. I think he performed onstage with Mark once though.

I still want a high res image of the black album cover.

That's the funniest, most ironic part about the whole thing: "Bored to Death" and the new album could very well help bring back blink's "legacy" after Neighborhoods damaged it. Tom did things his way with the last album: no producer, recorded at a slow pace so he could work on other things, wrote/recorded at separate studios....and most fans either hated it or didn't care about it. His way of recording ultimately hurt blink's legacy, something he seems very concerned about for some reason. It baffles me that he can say things like that when the response to the new song has been overwhelmingly positive. It's like everyone can read the writing on the wall besides him.

Agreed. I don't need Tom back. I'm perfectly happy for him doing his own stuff, I usually wind up buying AVA stuff anyway. I'd rather him just do what he wants to do, blink to do what they want to do and just let bygones be bygones.

  9. Mark being 44 makes me wonder how much longer he will do any of this

That song is good not bad, but to me, not fully fleshed out. So I agree it sounds like a demo. And if you haven't been able to tell by my consistent liking of your posts, I am in the make Blink fast and catchy again camp. I will wave that flag you.

First song that made me like Blink 182 was "Stay Together For the Kids"; I liked the more serious tone and complex sounds the song contained. I didn't care for any of their other pop-punky tracks that had already made them famous. Then I heard that track, and I was like "Woah, this is cool"

Haha, feels good to be on the same wavelength as other Blink fans, especially in 2016. I think we're going to really like this record.

I disagree with this for many reasons. When mark says "blink 182 life, for life" I believe him. When your entire life is music, that is something that never changes, ever. Take Morrissey, he's made an entire amazing solo career based on the opportunities that The Smiths afforded him. Many others as well, it's not something you just call at a certain age. Blink could easily play 3000 cap rooms, and sell out for as long as they want/need regardless of who is in the "tom" roll. Hell, if he brings +44 back or even starts a new band, I believe the same future could apply.

I agree with this, but at the same time it's hard to imagine a guy playing songs like Dammit or The Rock Show when he's 65, at least for me. If he does it, fuck yeah, more power to him.

It's also hard to imagine a 44 year old dude writing a song about looking at men naked, but here we are!

Not really, the comment is relevant to the discussion. If he's the type of dude that still thinks simply saying "naked dudes" is funny, I don't find it hard to believe that he'd enjoy playing Dammit well into the nursing home years

I'll never forget being in 6th grade when my dad heard the Mark, Tom, and Travis show. He said, "bands like this don't last. You think they'd be doing music like this at my age?" My dad was 43 when he said that.

I don't think naked dudes are funny, but the idea that a person would go through the trouble to build a pool just to get naked dudes to show up was enough to make me chuckle.

My comment about him playing the songs has nothing to do with the subject matter, and everything to do with the difficulty in imagining a 65 year old running around the stage playing fast paced punk rock songs.

Definitely interested in your interpretation! Apart from the "5SOS, Good Charlotte" which is quite reductant?
