    Regarding Tom's statement:

I just hope that the lines of communication he references are true. I don't even care whether or not he becomes an active member of blink again. I'd just like to believe their years of friendship are appreciated between the three of them. I hope they remain civil and perhaps even friendly from here on out.

  4. “With the previous incarnation of Blink, there were times when we wouldn’t rehearse or we would rehearse five times before a tour. We really want to be road-ready when we step out onstage.” - Mark

This is why Tom can't be there anymore. He doesn't want to be.

  5. and if they play in LA or San Diego, have Tom come out and play a couple songs, or something. That would be cool too.

I'd be more than happy for them to make music with Tom down the line, if and only if he's in a place where he can fully commit 100%. The reason I think he's such a bad artist now I think is because he tries to juggle ten things at once.

If down the line he can commit everything to a new blink EP or album and Mark and Travis are also into it I'd be very interested to see what they can do.

Until then it's just better for everyone this way.

When California comes out and there are fast punk rock songs and an older Blink vibe I'm going to internally scream every time someone says their sound has "regressed."

Yea that also annoys me too. Just because it's fun and fast paced, doesn't mean it's a regression. Especially if the songs kick ass.

I actually didn't read it that way. I think it was a pretty good post for a Tom post.

edit: didn't realize there were like five pages in between your post and the current one lol. keep up duermete

  12. Haha, thanks for quoting that part of the article. I called that shit probably 150 pages ago (which was what like, 4 days ago??) - the way Blink was playing shows over the past few years (pre-Skiba), it was so easy to tell that they didn't practice. That's why their timing was always way off!

I think that even if Tom could focus on blink the end product would be subpar. It's pretty clear to me at this point he has to have things his way and maybe that's good for him (or maybe not really) but it's not good for blink

  15. And honestly, re: Tom's facebook post, I don't want to see him return to Blink again in the future. I truly want those guys to have a healthy relationship, but I feel like it would be insulting to Skiba. Mark and Travis really seem to believe in this new version of Blink 182 and they seem so much more enthused (wink) about where they're at now. Skiba is a huge part of that. It makes no sense to record an album with him and have him fill in on Tom's songs live just to bring Tom back in a few years. You all know damn well Tom wouldn't want to play anything that Skiba wrote on..

It irks me that the two bands he listed as Feldmann's credits were 5SOS and Good Charlotte. Don't get me wrong, I like both of those bands, but it definitely paints John in a certain light to only list those two. Feels like he's cherry-picking to sound dismissive.

I am with you guys completely. Those songs always felt like they were meant to be played while skateboarding. I want that energy back in the music. Even though Heart's All Gone is a fast song, it doesn't pack that same feeling and energy imo.

I'll be fine with it as long as they're well written songs and that's not all that's on there. They said it goes in a lot of different directions which is always a good thing.

Agreed, and largely because of the god awful production, I think. Sounded like a demo to me.

This actually sucks to think to myself, but I rather blink just retire than have Tom come back. And I'm not even a super Tom hater, I get it, I think his press releases are bit ridiculous sometimes but I do understand. I saw Blink on their big reunion tour back in 2009(?) and it was amazing. Looking back on the videos, maybe not so much, but it was the experience that was what made it. Let's face it, not saying this couldn't change at all, but Tom's live performances are honestly what's killing this bands "legacy" that he talks about so much. That and the way they've aired all grievances very publicly.
