    Things have changed.

Tom's statement is fine. The anti-Tom crowd just loves to nitpick things to death. The only problem I had was him minimizing Feldmann by throwing in Good Charlotte and 5 Seconds of Summer. Feldmann loves and respects Blink and was SO stoked to get to make this record.

I think Tom is ultimately well-intentioned but the victim of ego, insularity and a sense of restlessness that makes it hard for him to zero in on any one thing.

Jason going to hate on him no matter what he does. It's obvious. I'm not trolling, it's just the truth.

Just hard to believe someone who was so influential and important to so many people on this site just continually gets buried when nothing he's done has been really that overtly malicious.

Yeah I don't really think Tom is the villain here. I really do think they are just different. I have enjoyed probably 80% of Tom's non-Blink output since 2003, and the new Blink song fucking shreds. It's clear to me that this separation is better for all involved, and especially good for fans.

  7. People just see him as the bad guy because he was the one postponing recording, forgetting lyrics, sounding shitty, writing odd stuff, etc.

I'm fine with his statement for the most part, but I don't like how condescending he sounds towards them and John Feldmann. Really rubbed me the wrong way.

I thought the same thing...kinda wish he just didn't say anything at all and took the high road

    Soooo... that California LP..

Fast punk rock songs. Songs that sound like Blink-182 circa 1999. @SpyKi your thoughts?

(Yes, I am doing this just to be a jerk ;-))

If there's a song like Don't Leave Me or Wendy Clear, I'll lose my shit.

Does anyone know if there are any guest spots on the new album? Would be cool for Dan Andriano to guest spot on a song!

That's exactly what I'm hoping for, and after reading those quotes, I think we're gonna get it.

Travis confirmed a while back that there's no guest spots.

The paragraph about how blink needed a song writer and he doesn't definitely sounded really salty, egotistical, and condescending but the rest is a fair response. Let's be real here, people here would've shit all over him regardless of what he said.

And I expect a shit ton of hate for saying this but Overload by AvA sounds closer to what I wanted from blink post-Untitled than Bored to Death does.

Tom. Is. Out. (of his mind)

I was hoping for his opinion on the song and while some of his statement seemed supportive, the backhanded thing about Feldman and how he keeps saying he's a forward thinking artist really bothers me. It also bothers me when he says everyone is concerned about the "legacy of Blink-182" even though I'm pretty sure the response to Bored to Death has been good. I doubt he's talking to Travis every day. I'd love to hear their side of this statement. The only thing that concerns me about the legacy of Blink at this point is Tom coming back.

I'm really hoping that there's also gonna be fun, recognizable blink riffs again like Dumpweed or The Rock Show.

While I definitely think BTD is the better song of the two, I get what you're saying and totally agree. I'm afraid of Blink totally regressing in their sound on this new album.

I feel so conflicted though because I keep telling people I hate pop punk now and don't want that from Blink anymore, yet my iTunes says I've played BTD like 30 times already lol.

A few pages back people were talking about how blink's lyrical content wasn't very impact full to them and I didn't notice anyone say anything to the contrary but I have to say when I was in high school so many of those songs about girls were perfect to me and I really identified with them. Now that I'm 28 and married most of those songs don't have the same meaning anymore but I remember a time when they were huge for me
