Its like a Ramones album - 20 songs - 40 minutes.

 

I feel like Tom's outlook on anything he works on w/ other people is kind of the same feeling you got back in school when you got paired w/ people on a group project that you felt were just going to be useless before you even gave them a chance. You just kind of decide you have to take over the project for it to be good.

He just feels like that on everything ever regardless of who he's working with or if his opinions and ideas are actually superior or not.

 

i'm so excited for the album because of all the short songs! "what's my age again?" is 2 and a half minutes long and it's perfect. all killer no filler.

 

I haven't gotten mine yet either. I'm hoping we get them soon.

You know what I just realised? If we keep it up, at this rate we will hit page 1000 before album comes out. Boom.

 

We have a ballad called 'Home Is Such a Lonely Place' that has clean arpeggiated finger-picking guitars with strings underneath it.

 

Since they mentioned this ballad, it's the one I'm most anxious to hear.

Everyone writes ballads. But there's something else to them when it comes from Tom, Mark and Travis (and Matt, now). They just know how to be romantic, emotional dudes.

 

Did their merch store really sell out of CD's already? I don't see how that's possible.

Caved and did the hoodie preorder. No idea why I waffled so long, missed out on that drum cover which would have been really cool.

"Mark Hoppus is in the top-three of my favorite blink-182 singers." Awesome.

 

I cannot take credit for it... Its out there somewhere... This thread, like we knew it would - kinda exploded.

 

After this, they should have Mr. Goldmann (never gets old) onstage every night for bantering purposes.

I was gonna do the hoodie option til I saw the drum heads were gone. Should have jumped on it. All that's on there right now are the two hoodie bundles and the 180 gram LP so I grabbed the LP

"Hi everybody-
I understand all the craziness out there in Internet-land, it is an odd time for fans of the Blink-182 legacy, I know- It's odd for me, too.
Well, I met with Mark yesterday, and Travis the week before.... I actually talk to Travis almost every day, now.
The answer is this:
We DO have a future together if we want it, but for now we are busy doing separate things. I am directing a movie this summer, releasing a couple more albums of music and digging deeper into my relationships with the US Government on the Sekret Machines Project.
I know people are comparing the Angels and Airwaves Chasing Shadows EP to the new Blink-182 music, and that is a failed task. For one, I think having a song-writer that came in on the Blink album (Feldy- 5 Seconds of Summer, Good Charlotte) was something they felt was necessary, and that in itself may be an indicator of some of our current artistic differences that are difficult to overcome. At the time, I was recording the song NEW WORLD (on the DEMOS album titled after my own name) and that was my personal opinion of where we could possibly take Blink for the next album. But we are at different places in our minds, careers and goals, I get it.
But that said, I obviously want them to make the music they wish. I have always been thankful for them in my life, but I am a forward thinking artist, and sometimes that leads me down a different path- That is why I have done other projects like: Box Car Racer, Angels and Airwaves- LOVE 1 & 2, AND The Dream Walker etc...
I look forward to my upcoming Feature Film, the Historical-Fiction Sekret Machines Project, the Poet Anderson adventure, the ridiculous stories of Strange Times, and a hell of a lot more...
....Maybe even a bit of Blink-182 if we can build back that "special something" that was once there."

 

That sounded so bad in my opinion. Like he's the forward thinker and they're the ones that need help writing music. Just awful.

 

What a weird post. All I read was "vague blink references, check out all that I'M doing"

 

I actually think that's a pretty good response from Tom. I'm glad he realizes that they just weren't on the same page and he's letting them do their own thing. AND, I'm glad that he finally admits that all of his other projects are just taking up all of his time.
