His best album is still Take Care - it's the least bloated of the discography

I totally agree with you on him not releasing his opus yet

 

his flow on that album has aged like goat shit.

fireworks is one of the most intolerable songs in his entire discography.

 

I remember Drake played Fireworks live before the album dropped and I was like woah. It's a great song

 

I wish he had gone from So Far Gone to Take Care. Seems like a much better natural evolution/growth. Take Care is still my favorite by a large margin.

 

Thank Me Later definitely the worst thing he's released by far.

Yeah Take Care is his best album. So Far Gone the mixtape is his best release, though.

 

Yup. Thank Me Later is such an outlier in the discography. So much of the production is brassier and more gauche than anything else he's done since or before.

 

It seems like his style changes so much and that he is always experimenting with different sounds. Maybe that's why he can't make his opus because he still doesn't quite know what it would sound like yet.

 

Thank Me Later turned me on to him but I don't hold much of it in high regard. Over is still an essential Drake single and it's got great tracks scattered but I never want to listen to it.

 

Plus I think the aesthetic of Take Care would have hit even harder if it came after SFG. With the whole King Midas thing and dealing with fame like he did. It would have flowed so well.

 

Take Care is the opus. It is one of the most pervasively influential and popular records of the 2010s and is a clear aesthetic and emotional statement. It remains his defining document and will, in all likelihood, endure as such.

 

Find Your Love will always be one of my favorite Drake songs.

 

I agree. I just really love select songs from his albums. I think most of Take Care and NWTS are great but they still have a solid amount I don't care for.

 

Still haven't heard Thank Me Later.

 

NWTS is my favorite Drake album and it will be hard for him ever to top it for me. It came out two weeks before I got married, so I'll always attach that album to those times. I was constantly spinning it as I was driving around town running errands, getting things set up, etc.

 

Considered NWTS my favorite for so long. July-November 2013 was probably my peak Drake obsession and I always just connected those two. But over the last year-18 months I've come to decide on Take Care being his best and my favorite. But I think TC, NWTS and even IYRTITL to be 10s.
