I agree with this. People focusing on the 'whore' part are missing the rest of the lyrics which are in my opinion more awful. It really does equate his girlfriend to a sex object he was paying for (with sephora) and in his understanding, she must now be getting things/money elsewhere because the sex is elsewhere, but he doesn't particularly care anyway because he's got porn to go on his phone.

Relationships are complex but I will never have any sympathy for anyone who cheats. Do the right thing and end the relationship before you get to that point.

 

Severing ties with someone who betrayed your trust, and reflecting on one's self and discovering what you can do to improve your life relationships are not mutually exclusive.

So, before looking up the lyrics to this awful song I would've called songs like "When I Get Home You're So Dead" by Mayday Parade or "Save It For The Bedroom" by You Me At Six prime examples of utter sexist trash pop punk songs... Basically, fuck me. I have been shown otherwise.

The sad thing is Rise Records don't give care you refuse to talk about this band anymore. They're not gonna care about someone writing a 2,000 word think piece about misogyny in the scene. In fact, every single anti-misogynistic article posted (and will be posted in the future) in Alternative Press is completely null and void after they openly promoted this stuff. The only way that Rise will care is if the band get into some bad shit like PWR BTTM or Better Off. As of now, they'll probably wind up doing a worldwide tour with Blink-182 and a lot of your favorite bands because of Travis and Feldman, and they'll somehow end up having a decent fanbase who think this stuff is "edgy". Harsh reality of the music industry.

 

I think Rise would be out defending pwr bttm, that scene actually cared about abuse and assault. Rise knows their demographic, and knows they wouldn't give a shit.

 

Makeout just released the latest song off the album, and I actually think it’s really good...just shows what they are capable of and they don’t need garbage songs like Secrets.
