Going around telling people you're woke is strange. It's like going around every day telling people you're not racist. After a while you wonder why they feel the need to clarify so often.

 

Yeah, "squad" is the worst. Squad evokes badass military imagery or something. What do the #squads do on Instagram? Oh, they just get drunk and take lots of selfies.

 

Guys, I was falling asleep last night to my library on shuffle when I was startled awake by Horizontal Hold by This Heat. I was reminded, that while Science Fiction CAN be quite scary at times, it is no Horizontal Hold.

 

It's like dudes who always say "I'm such a nice guy" at every given chance, but then turn out to be not-so-nice

 

You all sound so old

 

Getting upset about vernacular that isn't inherently derogatory is strange to me.

 

I feel old too when these kids are using these terms. Get off my lawn!

 

When I was in high school, "lit" only meant someone was high. It's so weird to hear kids use it now to mean something is cool.

 

As someone with just a minor relationship with therapy, the opening lyrics of this album come from such a powerful place of rejection and nihilism. Need to work on a piece about this whole album as a form of personal therapy.

When I was in in high school I was all that and a bag chips, not to mention DaBomb.com

 

I'm only as old as my hair and a year younger than my teeth. *takes off glasses that are now required to see anything closer than 4 feet*

 

The whole album is very cathartic and has a lot of resolution that would potentially come from some form of therapy and/or introspection. I would love to see what you write about it!

When I was teenager, sexist and homophobic slurs were pretty casual and commonplace, so it could be worse, right?

 

I totally do! I thought I was the only one.

 

A Scotsman that used to work here used to say "Oi" to literally everyone that walked past him, it was infectiously cheerful.

 

I'll admit I've yelled at high school kids for walking on my lawn.

 

Also his last name was Pringle, he would get super pissed every time someone bought him a can of Pringles (didn't like them) so naturally he always had offers from us coming his way.

 

Noice and hai are in the same group as "yasssss"

 

Hearing my college-age sister drop "lowkey" into every other sentence is the first time I've ever felt too old for a slang term
