CinSun was great. I came so close to seeing them once on their last run of shows (with Pete Wentz on bass I believe) and I still regret not going.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

CinSun was way too poppy for me.

That's the only one with Craig Owens. Pretty sure people consider it their best

Silverstein are WAY better than the other bands mentioned above. That band is far more consistent and far less dated.

Yea I'd agree, I hesitated to even include them in that post, but I started listening to them around the same time so it's just lumped together for me.

Was Craig Owens the MacBook one?

Most of that scene passed me by but I remember there being a while load of douchebbags in that scene and various AP threads hating on half those bands.

I did like a couple of DGD albums though. The one with the Chino guest spot was good and I liked both the albums either side of that one.

Legit never heard of them, and if they're from that scene I probably don't care to.

You're all wrong anyway, Funeral For A Friend were better than every single one of these bands.

One thing I find proper crazy is how 2 of the members of Attack Attack! Went on to end up in pretty damn successful bands in Of Mice and Men and Beartooth.

I never really classed them in any of the above mentioned scenes, I guess they probably toured with a few of them though (tbf they supported everyone back in the day). Still your point stands they are better than everyone of those bands.

Well, they were before any of those bands so I guess not, but they played a similar sort of music. Yeah I heard they never really broke over in the US, but they were WAY bigger than any of them over here in the UK. They were legitimately massive over here.

All the songs on it except The Getaway Plan are on the original two EP's Between 'Order And Model' and 'Four Ways To Scream Your Name'. The Getaway Plan was a B Side to the Juneau single so check that.

Yeah I'm from the uk too, yeah that's why I see them differently. They came up before the whole Rise scene, with all those uk rock bands at the time like Hundred Reasons, Hell Is For Heroes, Reuben and Biffy. So I my mind they sit more with likes of them and US bands like Boysetsfire, Thursday and Thrice (well early Thrice).

I guess I am listening to all these bands tomorrow. I forgot most of them existed. Hell Is For Heroes were fucking awesome, as were Reuben and Boysetsfire.

    hmmm

Reuben are literally in my top three bands ever.

Hell is For Heroes are playing The Neon Handshake in full later in the year, if you can make it it'll def be worth it. I saw them do it with Hundred Reasons (playing Ideas) a few years back and they were so good.

I'm still gutted I never caught Reuben live. Which considering I live/lived about 20 miles down the road from their hometown is ridiculous that I always managed to miss them.

Also while I've brought them up Boysetsfire are such a seriously underrated band, of all those sort of bands they were so consistent. All their records from After the Eulogy through to While a Nation Sleeps are all so good.

This was a joke, they were maybe the most obscure band mentioned so I thought it was funny. I do think I saw them once and bought a t shirt but none of the songs on youtube sounded familiar, they're a blur with the rest of the era.

Attack Attack was huge and blew up so fast. My high school band opened for them right after they kicked out Austin and the crowd they drew for being a band that young was incredible. Those guys shifted the whole sound of the scene from more of the darker Devil Wears Prada kind of thing to the bright synth dance part breakdowns thing, but really it was mostly similar with just a slight tonal adjustment.

Anyway, I just replayed Relativity, solid record. Anything after that they sounds really musically bland to me. And I played the top Chiodos songs on Spotify, I don't think I ever heard their Craig comeback record in full but 3 AM is up there and it is real bad. It went into Bears Make Money which was a musically interesting song at least, weird how things shift.

3AM was a terrible song but that album had some of Craig's best melodies on it. Really underrated release I thought.
