Am I the only one who thinks the 137 guitar solo is the best solo on this album?

Yep, that's how it goes. I've played for 12 years and I haven't managed really anything in that vein other than being on the sub list of one orchestra and playing in another pretty small, low level one. It's ridiculously competitive.

It's a great one but I think the in the water one is better executed and a bit more melodic maybe? They are both fantastic.

Honestly the 451 guitar harmonies on the solo are probably my actual favorite though.

I feel you on this. In the Water might be more complex but 137 just hits so hard it's so epic everytime it comes on

Yea it's hard to say which one is better. Also the wawa action on "out of mana" is very sick too

I might like 451 more than 137 but both songs are phenomenal. Glad people are coming around to In The Water.

I really hope we get to hear a recorded version of this song one day

451 is my favorite out of the 3 but I think 137's solo is the best.

All are great songs though! I wouldn't change anything about the album except maybe parts of No Control

It's not the lyric that's the issue, it's the message and meaning. Wanting someone to die in a car wreck isn't healthy. Writing a song about wanting someone to die in a car wreck isn't healthy. I get it your 16, you are still in the teenage angst part of life. But when you're older you'll realize teenage angst doesn't age well and you'll be embarrassed about it later on.

Jesse and John were friends again by the time the song was written. I always thought of it as playful banter between friends.

Not really a fan of either number song. I said that before, but they still don't do anything for me

If I had to pick a favorite song, it would be the track on the CD

137 is cool in like the shred metal/rock and roll way, but In The Water is much cooler harmonically. Love that it's doubled with an acoustic.

Can't get it out has grown on me the most.

Still one of my least favorites on the album but still so so epic!

"137" is pretty easily the worst song on the record. Outside of that I pretty much love everything else. "Desert" is a little tired for me lyrically. Favorites are "Waste", "Can't Get It Out", "No Control", and "In the Water"

137 is probably a top 5 brand new song for me. What a powerful song and a very strong message given the current climate.

Ehh. I think it's extremely heavy handed. Kind of cringed first time I heard it. To each their own.

137 is one of the best songs on the album.

    Desert is my second favorite.

My least favorites are Waste, Can't Get It Out, No Control, and In the Water.

Looks like we are opposites lol

Were they by the time it was written? I know they were by the time of release, but I think it was written in anger. I could be wrong though. I still don't like it though. And I DO like YFW

Idk "137" Is just perfect example of when I hate Jesse's songwriting. Little too indulgent. Clunky metaphor.

Probably biggest weakness of the record are some of his lines. But also some of the biggest strengths of the record. Devil and God indeed.

The only line I think is bad on this record is "At the bottom of the ocean, fish don't judge you by your faults"

But there definitely are some weaker lines than others. I feel that way about most Brand new albums. However, this might lyrically their best overall.
